February crowds and weather
Just booked our trip at BCV for February 9-16. We have never gone in February before. Any info on crowds or weather would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I went Feb 3-12, 2011. First couple days were shorts and t-shirt. Then it got a little cooler, jeans and long sleeve shirts. I know it rained one day, which was weird for Feb I think.
I was staying at BWV until the 10 and I know that they closed the slide at some point, and thus I was allowed to go over to Stormalong Bay. It warmed up enough that I went over there to swim around the 8 or 9 I believe. I think it can go either way. But it never got super cold. Crowds were great. Really no waits at all. But I was earlier in the month well before President's Day. When is President's Day next year? You may hit more crowds because of that.

We went in early February in 2009 and loved it crowd-wise. The parks were like ghost towns.
The weather that year was brutally cold (there was a frost warning all week and temps were highs in the 30s, 40s and low 50s that week). I guess I didn't pay attention to the weather while packing because the only thing resembling "cold weather gear" I had was a pair of capris instead of shorts. Ah, to be young and stupid again.Keep an eye on the weather in the days leading up to your trip and you should be fine! Have fun!

went end of Jan and you'll still need pants but a tshirt is good. Bring light jacket in case it's cloudy. Crowds are not very big this time of year. Worth going

Layers is the best advise I can given you. We have gone in Feb for the past 18 years for 10 nights and we have seen COLD weather I mean gloves, hats, coats and we have had years where it was shorts and tee-shirts the entire stay and most years with a mix of 50's to 80's! This past Feb hit 93 a few days! We learned to pack 3 -4 days of both summer and fall gear (and always bring light weight jackets) and use the laundry in the villa. I LOVE going in Feb. -we are not huge park/heat people but we like the hot tubs at night! We also watch the weather so we plan our down days/pool days around the warmer days! Enjoy

Unfortunately no one can predict the weather at this point!
February 2012, fabulously cool and breezy 70-80 degree days, cooler at night, sunny! February 2009, 4 days of continuous 28-40 degree! Sleet, gusty winds & rain, a total misery! Crowds are totally doable in February!

February up to until about the holiday and afterwards is pretty nice. Of course weather is always a variable, but it was a nice change for us from our Pennsylvania winter!
Crowds are low, but some attractions will be closed for refurbishment. Swimming? Maybe...... Temps were in the high 60's/low 70's during our trip. Too cold for many, but not all!

Glad I found this thread as I was starting to think twice about my Feb reservations. Although I would move them to March which I know can be just as variable. I live in south Florida so Orlando seems to be about 5-10 degrees cooler. My debate now is leave the reservation as it stands and watch the weather as we get closer or move it to the beginning of March which will have more crowds but should be warmer. We are driving and DH does not have to put on for days off so we can be pretty flexible. We are booked at BC and really want to be able to use SAB. Ugh, I really hate Florida weather

I've gone a couple times in early February. Once was around 80, shorts weather. Another time was cold and rainy. So you never know.

My Feb trips have been sweatshirts and bathing suits. One day it is sweats and the next it is jump in the pool. I do not remember lines in the parks, which means you can go on more rides even though the parks close early.
Don't sleep too late or the parks could close before you get there

The "average" high is in the low 70s and low in the low 50s. Problem with that time of year is that it is seldom the average. It can be very warm or very cold and both of those can happen in the same week. Check your 10 day forecast before going but don't rely on it entirely. The suggestion above of having layers is the best so you can be prepared to put more on when cold and less when not.

We know all about layers! When we do go through a cold snap down here it is generally extremely cold in the morning when the kids leave for school and I bundle them up. But I know by mid day the temp will rise at least 20 degrees.
I did mention it to DH and he said we will just leave the Feb reservations and watch the weather to decide what we want to do. We love that parks when it is cooler, but if I am paying for BC I want to be able to use it !!!

We have visited WDW in Feb, June, July, Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec. My favorite time of year is Feb. Less crowded, warm during the day (shorts and t-shirt) and cool at night (Capri's and a sweater). Like everyone mentioned, theres no guarantee on what you will get, but I still vacation during that time, and enjoy it. Have fun!!
