Oh please I hope my DH doesn't get that bright idea

Making an ADR after 8:05 in the parks. If you do it later, you miss the park opening and all the perks of being there before everyone.

Attempting the 9 hour drive home at 5pm after a full park day. I don't know what we were thinking. We made it home, but NEVER again.

Changing resorts too much.

We're DVC members. Until DVC reallocated the points several years ago the Fri + Sat nights would cost about as many points as the Sun - Thu nights. One trip I wanted to stretch our points but get as many nights on-site during our stay as possible. So I planned it as follows:

Sat night moderate resort
Sun - Thu DVC
Fri + Sat Poly
Sun - Thu DVC
Fri + Sat moderate
Go home Sunday

That was Wwwaaaayyyy to much moving for my family. At the end of that trip my wife was burned out from the moving, and not sure when she would want to be back. I realized I had made a mistake, and have since worked to maximize the quality of our trips. For example , a trip several years after that was booked this way:

Sun-Thu DVC 1 bedroom
Fri + Sat same room, booked on cash with member discount
Sun - Thu same room on points again

Almost the same length trip but no moves. At the end of that trip we were looking at each other and asking "Do you think your boss would approve another weeks vacation?" That is the way a vacation is supposed to be.

Omg, it is a 9 hour drive for us, too,,,.I can not imagine that after a full park day!! It was bad enough leaving at noon to head down there after checking kids out of school and then having to push the drive into late night. You poor thing!!

We thought because we wanted to see the elec parade, that going back to our off property hotel mid day on our first day would be best for the kids. Well, nobody slept a wink and even worse dh and I had an uncharacteristic, horrible fight that nearly ruined the trip and had me questioning our marriage! I was so mad he started a thing on our trip....but I was stupid to get into it as well. I regret it so much.....the traveling the day before was a bit stressful and everything got a bit overwhelming. I was really pste thatour daughter heard some of it from her room. parenting fail. We made up and happily had one of the best weeks of our lives....but if we had stayed in park and let the kids nap in strollers, none of it would have happened. We ended up seeing almost everything at mk over the week, but I wish I could go back in time! Next fall we will be staying at the parks til we are done. And absolutely no stupid fights!

Booking MNSSHP for the night we arrive which was also Halloween. We were exhausted and it was so crowded we couldn't walk through the park, much less go on any rides at all. Everyone was miserable, and we decided to just leave, but it took another hour and a half of fighting through the crowds to get out of the not-so-MK.

Next time going as off season as we can and sticking to MVMCP!!!

This last November we left MK at 10:00pm with our 4 yr old. This was on one of the Mickey's Christmas party nights. Well it took us about an hour to get back to our car because of the crowds. As we got to our car we realized that my wife left the car keys in her jacket, which she leant to my sister who was still in the park. The other thing she realized she didn't have her iPhone and has lost it. So we waited until about 1:30am for my sister to show up with the jacket and keys. She realized at about 12:30 that she had the keys, but it took her close to an hour to get back to the car.

We will never make that mistake again, we will always make sure we have our car keys when we leave the park. As for the iphone, she phoned MK the next day and it was turned into their lost and found. It turns out she lost it on the mono-rail. We where very surprised to get it back.

Eating chili chocolate ( I think that's what it's called) during the Food And Wine Festival. Worst tasting thing ever.

I got a pina colava in Morroco once I thought the guy asked if I wanted a straw but after a few sips I realized he said do you want it strong! LOL by the time I got to Italy I was tipsy! I had planned on getting a canoli and I did and ended up with a stomach ache in the late aug heat was NO fun! lol

Few years later I got a Grand Marnier Slush in the early Sept heat in the middle of the day and ended up with a terrific headach so much I had to go to the bathroom and puke during our LC dinner!

So my lesson don't drink the alcohol until it starts to cool down! LOL

Will for sure get pins for next time
