Question Anyone have beautiful waters in January?

Leaving in a week and was hoping to hear some stories of nice weather and calm seas.Getting nervous that Jan cruises are not the case?

Anyone have experience with calm seas and bountiful sunshine in the winter?

We have cruised in Jan. and although the temps are a couple degrees less in the Caribbean the wonderful sun warming your winter face surely makes up for the difference. Coming from an area where below zero is the norm any temps in the high 70's is wonderful. The seas are usually pretty calm for the hurricane season starts the upchurn of water in the early summer off the coast of Africa. Now the north Atlantic is a different story. We have never run into rough seas in our winter cruises (I hope I didn't jinx you). No worries you are on vacation so have a wonderful time.

We've done November twice, December, January and are doing January again this year. While it is a little cooler and possibly more windy for the sail away party leaving PC, we have always had comfortable weather in the Caribbean. The water is a little cold for snorkeling for this Florida girl but I've done it anyway.

We're driving down to Miami for our cruise in a few weeks and expect that version of the sail away party to be slightly warmer.

You'll have a great time!

Aside from the chilly air temperature and glacier cold water at Castaway Cay, we had fantastic weather and seas on our Dream cruise last January. I'm going again at the end of January in 2013.

Last January we went and had great weather. 80's at Castaway and upper 80's in Mexico. Sunny everyday. Castaway was very windy but warm. Everyone was swimming.
Have a great cruise!

Our first cruise was in January 2009. The weather was beautiful. It was cold in Florida and the first full sea day was chilly but after that it was fabulous (Eastern Carribbean).

Last January 23rd, we had our vow renewal on deck 7 at 5pm during a sea day.
The weather was bright beautiful and very warm. So warm our cake was beginning to melt.

Oh thank you everyone!!!!!!!! My fingers and my toes are crossed!!!!!! LOL!!!!
Coming from Massachusetts water temp in the Carribean can't be that bad.

We swim in Maine in Aug and water temp has been 51 degrees-no lie!! I am sure the temp at CC will be higher than that

We sailed last Jan and had smooth seas and warm weather, so we are sailing again in 2 weeks. Have a great trip, don't worry!

The ocean will be warmer than the hottest summer day on the Cape or Hampton Beach! So to me, that's pretty nice!

Swimming in Maine in Aug???? The Caribbean will feel like a hot tub......Coming from Vermont the lake waters are much cooler than the Caribbean and we swim all summer up here.

We were in York Maine in September. We didn't swim but took our flip flops off and walked in the water. Yes it was 51 degrees but that is warm for the Maine coast. I remember going to the beach in Bermuda and people leaving the beach said the water was cold. We thought it was really warm. I guess New Englanders like us are more tolerant. Castaway should be fine for you.

We sailed on the Dream last January 3-8 and the day we left port, so our first day, we had rough sea warnings on our way down to castaway cay. I thought it was kinda fun how much the boat moved back and forth for as big as it was. That was the only day we could really feel it though. The first two days it was pretty chilly, but from then on out it was great weather!!
