What should I do about my Dooney bag that I purchased on the Dream in December?

I purchased the D&B Fantasy Inaugural handbag for $235 on our Disney Dream cruise mid December. I noticed that the lining has pulled away from the inside zipper pouch. Can someone tell me who to contact? Should it be Disney or D&B? I understand this brand has a guarantee but I can't find it in my receipts. HELP...

D&B- they guarantee their items. File claim, you will return to them, they will either fix or replace.

Had a similar problem with my Dooney on Alaska cruise . Sent bag and receipt directly to Dooney ( address on site ) and they took care of it immediately .

But my receipt is part of my stateroom charges. Will they know that?

You may not even need the receipt:

Processing: To repair or replace an item please return it to our factory with your name, address, and phone number (day and evening) via insured mail or UPS. Be sure to include a description of the repair / replacement needed. Allow 1-2 weeks for a written response and 4-6 weeks time for your requested repair and / or replacement.

You can register your purse for a warranty. It's easy. Dooney is very good about backing their products.

Thanks..I will be sending it for repair...I am really picky about the placement of the sketch. Mickey is centered at the top and the ship names are not cut off. I'm afraid that if it can't be fixed that they will replace it with one that I am not happy with.

I am having the same problem with the same bag purchased in October on the Fantasy. This is the response I received from Dooney on Saturday in a letter: We are offering a credit if $117.50,to apply toward the full retail price of one replacement item valued at $235.00 or greater. There will also be a 7.50 shipping charge and sales tax. I have 30 days to respond to the letter or they will send my bag back to me in its same condition. Just wondering what response did you get from them ??

I am so mad at d&b.. those bags are not cheap and I am not willing to take a partial credit. I paid full price and that is what expect in return. Never again.

I personally think the partial refund is a rip off. I would ask them to mail your purse back to you and take it to a seamstress in your area to be repaired. Their partial refund isn't going to get you very far in the purchase of a new bag.

I think I will ask around at the local seamstress shops. Also I will insist on a written clause that if they screw it up they will owe me for the purchase price.

Here's anothee thought..I wonder if Disney has had so many complaints on the d&b bags that they seeked out vera bradley...

Wow, that is ridiculous. I personally would take it to a luggage repair shop. Even thought it's just the lining, a seamstress might not have the right tools, needles, thread type, etc. to properly fix it. Luggage repair shops are used to getting into tight places with heavy-duty repairs.

I had an expensive leather purse fixed by a leather guy. He did a great job.
