What time do they put the treats/snacks out throughout the day at Cove Cafe and Vista Cafe? Which one is self serve and which one do you have to tell them what you want and they plate it for you?

We just never seemed to be able to hit it at the right time last time. Everything was always picked over.

We never noticed any set time for new trays of items to come out.

On our cruise, both locations were "self serve," although if there is significant illness on the ship, they change to a "we will serve you" deal. There is a CM right there and they don't allow the kids to dig thru the Vista Cafe stuff (the CM will offer to help if there isn't a parent around). The Cove Cafe is adult only and self serve.

I've seen them placing new trays in the fridge...but other than the fact that the offerings change thru the day with the antipasta stuff appearing about 6, never found any logic to when the new trays were put out. It seemed that when they were emptied, a new one was placed...or at least the empty one removed.

Are these treats included in cruise or do you pay extra like the speciality coffees

The food is included. As noted, you pay for specialty coffees and other bar items.

Free (well included) at the Vista too. Don't remember when put out, but I remember sweets after lunch time and appetizers late in the afternoon. Sometimes trays were replaced and many times when gone no replacements.

It was fun to see what was put out, but I do no have a rave about any that I tried.

Most times we helped ourselves, but later in the day, they served you.

I thought everything at the Vista Cafe on the Fantasy was "behind the counter." I don't remember seeing any way to get to the food--looked like someone had to get it for you!

We thought so too...till the CM told us to help ourselves. We walked to the back of the display case and did so.

Thanks everyone! My experience was also once it's gone it's gone. Thus, we never got anything. So I was hoping to catch it when there was a full selection.
