Castaway Club Reception - 7nt Fantasy Eastern
Hi,
I am in the process of trying to book brunch and other activities and I know there is a Castaway Club Reception for Gold/Platinum members, which I don't want to clash with. Can any recent cruisers tell me what day/time the Reception was on? Thanks Alba

Hi! Just off the E Carib on the Fantasy.
Gold/Platinum reception was at 11am on the 1st sea day. If you're also DVC, the DVC welcome session was at 9am the 1st sea day.

Thanks disneyxperts....hope you had a great cruise.
Thanks very much for the info on the reception and also the DVC welcome meeting as we are members. I booked Palo Brunch for the second day at sea, so that should work out just fine. Alba

The CC reception is held on the first sea morning on all 7 night cruises out of PC. That has been our experience on both.

Thanks- can you explain what it entails? I have Palo brunch scheduled for that morning and I'm wondering if the CC reception makes it worth it to push my brunch up a little later or not.

Honestly, it is not that big of a deal and doesn't compare to our first CC reception in 2004. They talk, you have a photo opp with Mickey, they might have rice crispy Mickey heads. We usually schedule our brunch for the first sea day so miss it.

We've enjoyed the last couple of CC receptions we've attended. They passed out free mimosas or belinis (or NA drinks), had some snacks (crispy treats, cookies, coffee, etc), and had some ice breakers to do that gave you stuff to fill in the drawing slip for some freebies (propeller clocks, etc). As you left, they handed you plastic CC champagne flutes (which my DD loves!).
I always thought it was worth scheduling stuff around to get to - it is an enjoyable hour of mingling with the management-level crew, photos with Captain Mickey, snacks and drinks and sometimes some info on upcoming itineraries or ships. In a lot of ways, it seems like the DCL version of the DVC Member Gathering - but with free alcohol and less give-aways. Maybe they're hoping that you'll imbibe enough that the videos will make you want to rush back to the rebooking desk and book your next one! |
