That would be my guess. After he was voted off, he said that he probably wouldn't have used the idol anyway because he thought that he was safe that night.

If I was Malcom I would have kept looking, even if Andrea was there it would have kept him safe one more week

Agreed. Although he did say that if he dug, Cochran and Andrea would've been digging right beside him. Still, if you find it, you're there for another tribal. If someone else finds it, you're gone. If no one finds it, you're gone.

So keep looking!
Oh, well

On another note. I was kinda surprised at the warm welcome 'Fillup' gave Malcom at Ponderosa. Phillip's still nuts but it was a stand up move, I thought.

I watched the after show with Malcolm. He said he had to quit looking because the majority were "pretty convinced" he'd found an idol ( this was all edited out ) and if he or even the other two amigos looked, they'd know he was lying. He'd hoped that if they believed he had an idol and split the vote (which he did) then hopefully he could have gotten either Sherry or Erik to vote with him and had the majority.

He also said that he did share the clue with Reynold, so even though Malcolm is gone, Reynold can continue to look for the clue himself.

dictionary.com has a pronunciation guide, I looked it up and there's a subtle difference between the way "don" and "dawn" should be pronounced. Should be the same for the proper names, I think.

go listen:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/don?s=t

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dawn?s=t

Must be a regional thing.

They both sound the same here. I agree, it must be a regional thing.

Eddie was so cocky that he didn't think that Cochran could win, even with an advantage. I think that is why he didn't try to outbid him.

Here is Rob Cesternino (Survivor Amazon) doing a radio interview with Malcolm. He explains what happened when Andrea was hovering around when he was searching for the idol, among other things. Interesting.

It must be regional bc they are not pronouned the same at all. aprilgail2 gave the distinction. My BFF growing up is named Dawn and it is pronounced D awe n .
