I hope to. I am also reading some comparisons that don't match up to the snapsort comparison.

I think it can come down to user quality at some point, even over camera quality.

Yes, I have been reading DPReviews on all of them, along with CNET and DigitalRev, to name a few.

I do believe the more I read, study, compare, the more confused I get and the harder the choices become.

I WILL get there.

If money were no object, it might be easier, but I do have to consider the cost in some of this.

They talk about the Canon G15 and the RX100 among others. I think getting your hands on them in person is a good idea, but I also think it's good to do as much research as you can.

Thanks. Yeah, not sure if the added cost is worth it but need to weigh that out.

Basically, the rx100 is better all around. Much bigger sensor. Therefore better low light, less noise. Bigger sensor will give you better background blur. Also a faster shutter burst rate and faster focus system. Far better image quality. So the question is whether the higher quality and performance is worth the higher price.

I think balancing what you can afford with what you want is one of the toughest things when buying a camera. And you can stress over the specs all day long but at the end of it all the camera with the "best" specs on paper may not be the best camera for you. Just step back, take a breath, and try to get to play with some.

Remember, you can always buy from Amazon. Try it out, and return within 30 days if not to your liking.

I have been digging around a bit and I found that Adorama Camera online sells the PEN E-pl2 for $299 and if you buy a 40-150mm lens add on it is only $99 more instead of the regular $199 cost. Nice set up for only $398 and free shipping.

Also, on Adarama, for every $150 you use a Visa on you get a $10 Adorama gift card for future use. Use code Visa12B

eta: here's where he bought it.

I did! I figured for $398 I can sell it if I hate it.

The 40-150 lens is back up to $299 now (I got it for $99.)

It will arrive tomorrow. I don't have a memory card for it yet but if the one I have sitting here fits I will just use that for now to play with it.

Oh, and on top of that deal I also got $20 in Adorama bucks to spend. I am trying to decide what to get. I may just get a larger memory card.

Enjoy the camera. I think it's an excellent choice, for what you were seeking.

Welcome to the (growing) community of micro 4/3! I think you will enjoy the size of the camera and lenses.

Thanks. I think so too. It isn't a top of the line by any means, but I think it will serve my purposes well.

Thanks.

I am already looking online at more lenses, particularly fisheye at the moment. I would love to play around with a fisheye lens!

I have the E-PL2. It's a great camera and one of the neat things about it is that the onboard flash is hinged so you can bounce it.

A fisheye is one lens I don't have, but there are some excellent lenses out there for micro 4/3's. $99 for the 40-150 can't be beat.
