1900 Park Fare
Hello all! Looking for a bit of advice. We will be getting in on Sat 4/13 around noon. This will not be a park day for us so I wanted to do something special for dinner to give ourselves a taste of Disney before we start our week at the parks. I was hoping to do a character meal and made an ADR for 1900 Park Fare. After reading some reviews I'm wondering if I should look into something else? What have your experiences been with 1900 Park Fare for dinner? If you did not enjoy Park Fare could you recommend something else outside or the parks?

I haven't been there myself, but have it booked for our next trip in February. From everyone I have talked to at work, they all LOVE the character interaction especially Lady Tremaine and the step sisters. I have also been reading reviews and comparing WDW restaurants on tripadvisor.com. Of the Disney World restaurants, it is listed as number 26 of 93 so I am giving it a shot. It is actually the meal that I am looking forward to most.

I'm sorry, I should have understood how someone can love an inferior creature... because I love you... not in the way of the ancient Greeks, but the way a robot loves a human, and a human loves a dog, and, occasionally, a gorilla loves a kitty.

We've done the character dinner there several times, the last time being about a year and a half ago. The food is good and it's a great way to meet Cinderella without the expense and hassle of the MK princess meal. I would recommend it.

We haven't done 1900 Park Fare but we often start trips with Chef Mickey. Not so much for the food, but you can meet the Fab 5. We love to start our WDW trips with seeing Mickey and the Gang

We have eaten at a number of character meals and buffets including 1900 Park Fare for both breakfast and dinner. I would say it is worth a try, the food is no better or worse than any of the others (we are not picky and actually enjoy buffets). The Tremaines are hilarious!

I always make it a point to make it to 1900 park fare for breakfast but I think there are better buffet choices for dinner. It certainly does have that's Disney feel and it seems the characters do a good job making there way around frequently compared to some other restaurants.

We ate there for dinner on our September trip and I have to admit we were pretty underwhelmed. The food was ok (not really better or worse than other character meals), but the restaurant itself was just kinda blah. The stepsisters were funny, but I felt like Cindy and Prince Charming were rushed. It wasn't a terrible experience by any means but we have enjoyed other meals much more and I think Chef Mickey, Garden Grill, or even TRex are better ways to kick off a trip.

I think 1900 dinner is below average than your typical character buffet. food quality and selection are not good at all. the only good thing were the step sisters. OMG so funny!

The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is awesome. The character experience of the step sisters and the step mother along with Cinderella and Prince Charming are priceless. However, the quality of the food I found to be slightly better than terrible (even by Disney standards) and the selection to be rather disappointing. 1900 Park Fare is the only TS where I left not eating the offerings and grabbing a meal at the CS back at the resort. Shame about the food because the character experience is one of the best in all of WDW.

The food was very standard buffet food (except for the chilled strawberry soup! I would go back just for that!), but it's the characters that are worth it!
Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drusilla are HILARIOUS! Cindy was wonderful when we went and Prince Charming was a real gentleman. Each spent a fair amount of time at the table with us chatting briefly (Lady Tremaine expressed her distaste that they weren't serving "food acceptable for people of our elevated class", which got a laugh out of our table since we're all one half step above rednecks).

I hate buffets and I enjoyed our dinner here this past May. So did the other 4 adults with me.
Keep the reservation! |

I was very pleasantly surprised with it this past month!
We also did it as our first night's dinner to get into the Disney mood w/o going to the parks. We were, however, seated right in the main dining room so the ambiance was a bit better. If you get seated off to the side, it is a long wait before the characters get to you. You also feel like you can't see much (we did both breakfast & dinner and were seated center for dinner and in a side room for breakfast). Cinderella was very very rushed (and kind of standoffish) but the stepsisters were HILARIOUS. Really great. The food was also a nice surprise. The chicken marsala was very tasty with the mashed potatoes. Prime rib was average but much better than any meats we ate from Tusker our Crystal Palace. They also had spicy tuna roll there! Had never heard this mentioned and I thought it was nice (but not authentic, by any means).I'd recommend it. Go!

We say go! We have been all but one of our trips. My little girl really likes it. My husband gets a kick out of the step sisters. They are so funny.
The buffet is "eh". It isn't awful since we all were able to find something to eat but we weren't raving about it. When we think of this dinner we think of the characters. At times the waitstaff can make you feel like they want you in and out but we refuse to let them rush us off if we aren't done. We felt this way a lot in September. We had a large party of 12 so it just took us a little bit longer and we didn't feel bad about it. Yes we would recommend you go just to see the Tremaines.

Our last time there was in December 2010 and the food wasn't anything special and is not our first choice for a buffet, but the step sisters are great and are worth going for, IMO. If you're going solely for the food, you might be disappointed; but if you are going for the character interaction, I think you will love it.
