That 20% was handy!! My mother and MIL needed batteries and it made it 20% less painful buying them in MK!

I interpreted it as it wasn't being extended.. I wouldn't mind being wrong. I would rather it not be discussed and it has the potential of staying! (I know wishful thinking on my part!)

There are some dining discounts. Usually 10% (same discount with either the AP or PAP).

thanks for the twitter update

If they had offered a similar great annual pass offer for DL (even the combined WDW/DL AP) we'd have bought one there too, then visited twice in one year hitting fall of '13 & winter of '14. My DH balks at every vacation being a disney trip. I don't understand why DL consistently gets the short-shift on DVC discounts . This year instead of re-visiting DL, we'll be spending our summer vacation $ on a non-disney trip and activate our PAPs for F&W trip in the fall.

imo this sort of heavily discounted 'seed' ticket offers go a long way in getting members who take multiple vacations to revist the parks more often vs making other travel plans and the better the perc, the more we'll return and possibly add on to do so.

That doesn't sound like "no" to me. It simply sounds like we didn't get any information one way or another at the meeting.

The current DVC AP discount is almost $150 (same as FL resident) since the 2012 price increases:

$574 vs $425 (Fl and DVC)

The short answer is that they do not need to offer discounts there.

Most of the discounts offered to DVC members are extended to increase revenue in certain areas.

DL annual pass prices were substantially increased this last go around. Informed speculation suggested that Disney actually wanted to reduce the number of DL annual pass-holders. Apparently the revenue per passholder wasn't meeting expectations, and they'd rather have day visitors in the parks because they tend to spend more per guest. The DL market is different from the WDW market.

If the above is true, it is very unlikely that DVC members will ever be offered a meaningful discount on DL annual passes or the Premier Pass.

We bought one at the DTD Guest Relations and upgraded to one at MK Guest Relations! They just asked for ID and DVC member ID.

I also hope they continue with the DVC owner discount for AP. I live over 1,000 miles from WDW and its a major trip to the location . I am in the midst of selling and re-locating with my home and the time for the parks won't be any time soon. So it would be hoped that Disney still wants to generate a positive opinion with DVC owners who visit into future years and continue with this perk!

I don't think there is any indication they will get rid of the existing AP perk, which is $149 off a regular AP, $144 off on a PAP ($559 vs $699).
