I usually take 3 weeks, sometimes 4. I don't get any paid vacation at work but I also can take off whenever/whatever I can afford. No approval process, I just give a few weeks notice.

While I get more I normal only take the required one whole week. All the rest I piece meal so I can get the most out of them.

This year's itinerary includes a Mardi Gras weekend (probably #2), WDW, DCL, the Kentucky Derby and Oaks.

You can cram a whole lot into a year if you use vacation days to make long weekends

I qualifiy for 4 weeks of vacation and by gawd I take it every year, especially since I can't carry time into the next year.

We usually will take two full weeks for one trip and then spread the other weeks out depending on our plans.

My husband also receives four weeks but he can roll two weeks into the next year if he doesn't use it all.

We have a Use or Lose policy at work. We are only allowed to carry 6 weeks of leave on the books, anything after that I have to use. I've been there so long that I get 5 weeks of paid vacation every year that I have to use. We usually take at least 1 full week over the summer (for vacation) and the days between Christmas and New Years off. And then we use the rest of the time a day here and a day there.

I typically take at least 3 full weeks a year. One in the Spring around Spring Break, one sometime in the summer and one either Thanksgiving or Christmas. We will then also take some long weekends throughout the year as well.

I'm super lucky to get four weeks a year as a baseline. And then since I'm part time (60%) I can use my days off on my lighter weeks and usually manage to stretch it out to six or seven.

Not sure why you separate weeks you get from weeks you take - we take it all too, as does everyone I know! I was up to 5 weeks a year at my last job now back at the starting line with 2, always take every single one since you use it or lose it.

I know for me working 3 days a week, sometimes I don't have to take a formal vacation to get a vacation. I work my 3 required days in the beginning of the pay period and 3 days and the end of the pay period and I have technically 8 days inbetween for a vacation. Doesn't really work for a trip to Disney. But if definitely works for shorter I wanna get away trips.

I take 4 weeks from work...if I don't use it, I lose it. However, we usually only travel 2 of those weeks...once in February/March and then again in late August. DH only gets 2 weeks and can only take one of those in the summer.

It varies by year. Next year will be 2 weeks, unless I can convince DBF otherwise. 1 week on the Fantasy, and long weekends adding to another week DLR, NYC, and Phoenix.
This year we took 3-4. Costs Rica, Peru, DLR, NYC, and another DLR this Sunday.

I get 5 weeks earned time (to be used as vacation or sick time)

I usually take 3 full weeks off.
1 - flying trip
1- road trip
1- stay-cation (beach days, day trips, etc.)

The rest of my time is here and there
