While it is a funny scenario, it's not very funny that your friend is actually planning to travel at 40 weeks pregnant. Her family should really consider moving the trip up a lot sooner, or there may be no trip at all if she delivers early. What a gigantic waste of money that would be if they had to cancel right before, or if she goes into labor while on the trip and has to spend a couple of days in the hospital/hotel room.

Having had three births, I would definitely question the sanity of the mom to be to travel *anywhere* at 40 weeks, also anyone encouraging her to travel with them Sure hope this is a joke (and a poor one at that).

Can't believe any OB or midwife worth delivering a baby would sanction such an action either.

I think she should try for during the Rope Drop show at Magic Kingdom. This is really a win win! Her baby gets a truly proper welcome into the world (bonus points her baby gets welcomed into the world and Disney world at the same time!), and mom can just head on into the park and tour after she's taken care of that pesky labor/delivery thing!

I would thinkt he midwife would have to be licensed in Florida also in order to legally assist her.

So the disabilities board, where people have actual disabilities, and have real questions and need real answers to make their trips possible, needs to humor someone with advice on where to deliver a baby in WDW?

Sound advice: Call the OB and get a referral to a hospital and competent OB in Orlando.

moved to the Disabilities board? LOL
I guess being 40 weeks pregnant and likely in labor at some point during the trip would present some challenges in the parks. Mom should get an ECV because her feet are going to swell to the point of explosion with all that walking in the heat. And get a good referral for an OB and hospital. Better yet, re-think that kind of a trip or ANY trip at 40 weeks pregnant.

The disABILITIES board for a pregnancy/delivery discussion?? No doubt in my tiny little mind that Cyrano is a guy. Bless him.

Maybe the Disney for Families forum? Since we're talking about showing up at WDW and immediately squeezing out a newborn. There's a parenting question for you.

Seems to me that the ToT elevator ought to be a good birthing room. That sudden stop at the bottom should be a great help in getting that little tyke to pop out.

...am I the only one who gets that the entire post is a joke?

I am 99.9% sure there is no such friend. It's just a funny way to think up some ridiculous scenarios.

I'm sorry but the only place to give birth is on the Peoplemover. Everyone knows that. Geez people!

I am also glad that being pregnant is now a disability.
