How does early entry work?

friend is staying at GC with her family. does she just show her room key? does it have a number of people listed on it that she can bring in? how do they prevent people from bringing in extra people who are not staying in disney hotels?

Everyone must show their room key, including children. They asked for photo ID in addition to the room key when I was there in November. My friend didn't bring her license and a supervisor okayed her to enter. Some CM accepted the room key only as ID, some didn't.

Yes, you must show your room key. Everyone who checks in to the hotel, including children, gets a room key. Some CMs seem to be okay with the parent showing a room key for the entire family, others want to see the room key for each person. Best to bring all the room keys, your tickets, and IDs for the adults. Have fun!
