We will be staying at CBR for the 5th time in July and requested Jamaica and have gotten it 4 times. I hope we will still love the rooms when they change.
It looks like it is going the be all villages, except the pirate rooms (my assumption). On page 45 of this thread, there is a report of the new linens in Martinique and also Aruba. I don't think it looks really tropical either, but I'm wondering if this is only the beginning of what they're doing. Either way, I'll be there in 18 days!

I think you're right, it must be the the beginning of what they are doing. As far as I know, no Disney resort use plain white bed sheets/covers only. While Polynesian and Coronado Springs does use white sheets, they also have some sort of a bed runner going over the bed.

Question

I will be leaving for CBR on Wednesday, I will be staying in the pirate rooms. Does anyone have any complaints about this room specifically? The only thing that I have heard is that there is a long walk to get to the main area.

Yes, many people find the walk to be long. I think it's a 7 min walk or something like that. Some people find the Pirate Room beds to be uncomfortable. I've never stayed in one but my daughters have and they had no complaints with anything about the room. They loved it.

We've booked a preferred room, which area is this likely to be in? I'm looking forward to not having to trek to the food court for a mug refill!

Check out post #1 of this thread and you'll find a list of the preferred locations and a link to the CBR map.

There's a small section in the resort store that sells some grocery item. I don't remember there being a gallon of milk but there were half gallon containers there.

If you booked preferred, you will be in one of the Trinidad North buildings or in building 26, 25 or 24 in Martinique.

Thank you!

It's still quite a trek from the check in and buses though!

Are you taking Magical Express? If so, Bell Services can take you and your luggage to your room via van. Bell Services podium is located right outside of the Custom House where you check in. They will also do this when it's time to check out. If you have any issues or questions which require a visit to the concierge desk, there's one in Old Port Royale.
