Microphone
My 8 yo DS loves to sing and is asking for a microphone with stand. Any inexpensive ones out there you would recommend?

You'll need more than a mike -- you'll need a little amp or speaker as well. I'd suggest you go to Best Buy -- they have inexpensive models of things like that. They may have a kit or package that will have everything in it.

My son got one from creative playthings a few years ago and it still works.
The "toy" ones (if that's what you're looking for) had a lot of bad reviews, I found, so paying a little more seemed to be worth it (though grandma bought it). It might be the kind of thing that paying more is worth it. Good luck!

I picked up my girls a "Sing Stand" from Memorex at wal-mart for 49.99 it is a mic and stand and you put your i-pod in it and its karaoke with your own music. Our walmart had them on clearance in the back by the tv's.

My DD got a Memorex SingStand last year and it has been the BEST thing ever!! She uses it daily and LOVES it!!! This year she is getting an additional microphone so she and her friend can sing duets on it. lol. It's much smaller than some of the other karaoke machines.
