Lightning & snow
So weird! Snowing pretty heavily here and the sky has lit up three times with lightning!
Who else is getting snowed in tonight? No school tomorrow!

I've seen that before. Someone has termed it once "Thunder snow"... I found it interesting.

We've had a few storms around here (buffalo, NY) within the past 10 or so years that have included thunder and lightening. Kinda cool, as long as you are safe inside.

I've experienced it before-during a blizzard.
Iowa, that snowstorm you're getting now is heading my way tomorrow, which would be fine because it's been looking soooooo dreary around here. BUT of course, I need to make a drive to O'hare airport tomorrow  to pick-up my daughter flying home from college.

Yup, we're expecting thunder snow tomorrow, too...as well as 14+ inches of snow and 50 mph winds. We're under a blizzard warning.

I think last time we had thunder snow in Chicago was our blizzard of two years ago when Jim Cantore was in town to observe it.......

Expecting 12" here in Wisconsin! The college kids are all out having a snowball fight at 1am- too funny. I work at the university and despite the city busses being down (our main form of transportation) and finals being cancelled, we have to work tomorrow or take a vacation day
