Disney birthday party for an adult!

Hi all!!

My sister will turn 23 within 3 weeks. My 21st birthday is the 23th!
We we're both thinking of a Disney themed birthday party but....
as we are students; We need some CHEAP decorations!
The food will be simple. We'll watch some of the Disney movies.
The guests will arrive as their favorite character.

As I said. We need some inspiration for cheap decorations.
We want to have some subtle items from many different movies/characters!

Could you help me think of some nice, cheap decoration ideas?
Love from Holland

First, Happy Birthday!

If you have any party stores, check there. You might luck out and find some deep discount Halloween stuff.

Check out fabric stores also. You can find Disney fabric that you can buy by the yard for pictures. You can find ribbons that might match different characters in feeling or design. I bought some red with white polka dot ribbon recently that looked perfect as Minnie Mouse ribbon. But the big fabric stores will also have fancy ribbons or fabric that will remind you of Cinderella's ribbons, etc.

Ribbons are good ones!

I bought the Mary Poppins umbrella when the musical played in Holland 2 years ago and I have some small plastic dolls of Mickey and Friends.
And of course a lot of Disneyland Paris stuff will be there.

Visit the party store soon! Thank you so much!

Check the Dollar Tree too. I see a lot of Disney stuff in there, from gift wrap, bows, toys, plates & cups, etc.

Buy a pack of construction paper from a Dollar Store or Walmart! Cut out circles to make Mickey Mouse heads and spell out Happy Birthday using a head for each letter and make a banner! Use other colors that appear on Mickey (black, red, yellow) to cut strips and make a chain to hang up on the ceiling! Use the other colors to make little cutouts of your favorite characters. We did this for my birthday last year and none of the decor was professional looking but it was adorable and everyone loved it and asked what boutique we bought them from. You can also make a giant Mickey Head and then get a silver sharpie and have guests sign the giant head, so you can frame it and keep it up in your room.

Also hit up Goodwill and look in the kids section to see if they have big bags of Disney character figures for sale. Ours usually does. We bought a $5 bag and it had about 20 different pvc Disney characters. We arranged some around the kitchen and living area, and super sterilized a few to put on my cake.

Well, I live in Holland so no Wallmart for me! We have some "1 Euro" shops. Visit that one next week.
Love the Mickey Mouse banner idea.

I bought those a couple of months ago. Want to place those on several spots in the living room.

Thank you all for the comments so far!

Do a menu tying your food to disney movies or characters ... " lady and the tramps spaghetti." "Mickeys cheese and crackers."

Make signs for each room you are using "Enchanted forest" "remi's kitchen"

Glitter on the welcome mat.

Have fun!!!
