Protect your Valubles in your Hotel Room!!
Having to do a significant amount of security work in both the Network and Physical security worlds, I can assure you this is a REAL thing.
Earlier this year at a Convention for Hackers an exploit on Hotel Room Locks that use Magnetic stripe cards was exposed. A Couple of months later, items started disappearing from Hotel rooms in Texas. The exploit has been published and a fix is in the works but it will take a long time to hit all the locks out there. The moral of the story is to lock your stuff up in your hotel room. If it is electronic, it can be hacked. INCLUDING RFID!! http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2012/1...se-room-locks/ http://www.extremetech.com/computing...icrocontroller http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYAwEikopzI http://lifehacker.com/5953442/build-...y-erase-marker |

There is a very easy way to get into rooms without hacking, lol. Don't ask because I'm not telling those who don't know. It would be wrong. But it isn't hard.
Keys were so much better. I don't care much about stuff and will leave that out in the room when I'm gone. But I try to lock the doors when we are in there and absolutely do when kids are in there.
