Legend of Capt Jack worth it?

Has anyone experienced Legend of Capt Jack at HS? Is it worth going? I have 3 boys ages 7,5,3.

Sure, I'd give it a try with three boys, especially if they like pirates. What do you have to lose?

I'd say it's worth about 20 minutes in line. Maaaaybe 30 if you have a huge Jack Sparrow fan in your group.

It's a pretty fun show, with some nifty special effects. But it's also quite cheesy, and involves constant standing in a large crowd of people in a smallish couple of rooms (fortunately, it's not a long show!).

You may have to lift the 3 and 5yos up in order to see.

Most kids wouldn't have an issue if they already know who Jack Sparrow is, and especially if they've seen any of the movies. The narrator engages everyone in the audience in shouting at the villains to chase them away (or stomping to drown out the mermaid music), so it's fairly empowering for kids.

However, that said...

It's crowded and everyone stands. So some shorter kids might be freaked and/or bored if they end up staring at adult rear ends the entire time.

It's occasionally loud. Some kids don't like that.

There are dark (ish) portions. Some kids don't like that.

There are skeletons and skulls everywhere. The skulls talk, and the skeletons wave swords at you.

Also, while kids probably wouldn't care, at one point in the show Captain Jack does make out fairly enthusiastically with a pirate wench. So some parents might find that offensive (personally I'd think they'd have to be extremely sensitive parents to be offended, but your mileage may vary).

The bits with Jack are very slapstick and there's a lot of humour.

My son would have been fine, sitting on his dad's shoulders to watch the show when he was three. You know your kid(s) best.

P.S. If you DO put a small child on your shoulders, please stand at the edge or back of the room so you're not blocking some other person's view.
