Flying into Ft Lauderdale?

I am looking at flights into Orlando and the least expensive has us stop in Ft Lauderdale, wait an hour, board another flight and arrive in Orlando another hour later, then we have another 1 hour drive to Port Canaveral. So from the time I arrive in Ft Lauderdale its at least another 3 hours of transportation. I then looked at the cost to just fly into Ft Lauderdale and then drive to Port Canaveral, its about the same time, but saves us $200. What options do I have to get from Ft Lauderdale to Port Canaveral?

Is it a big enough airport that I can get a towncar or shuttle or something that will do the driving for us?

I think your only hope may be to rent a one way car.

Yeah, I think that's too far for normal shuttle services, but one-way rental car may be an option.
