DVC Discounts at Aulani

I am renting points for a stay at Aulani this coming November, and was wondering if I would be eligible for DVC member discounts while staying at the resort. Specifically, I've heard:

- Free self parking for DVC members

- 10% discount for activities such as cabana rentals and the snorkeling reef

A read on a message board that you need to show a "blue member card" (?) for the 10% discounts, but I'm not sure what that's all about.

I've never rented points before, so I'm new to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm guessing that you would not get any discounts. You gain access to the parking garage with your room key. My room key said "DVC Member" and I'm guessing that yours would not. The member would have to request that for you and that would give you access to their point information at the front desk. The parking is expensive for non-members, $35 per day .

They wouldn't. They need to notify Member Services that you are renting the reservation. You aren't entitled to member perks if you are not a member or if you are not a guest of the member staying with the member or someone who did not compensate the member, i.e., a guest of the member.

Since you paid the member for the reservation, you are not entitled to any member perks.

It is being rented with points. I thought the parking was still going to be free...I guess I won't know for sure until I check in at the resort.

We stayed at Aulani with rented points. Your room key will say DVC and you will get free parking. Also, show your room key at Rainbow Reef and you will recieve the 10 per cent discount.

I stayed at Aulani twice, once with rented points and my own points on two nights linked together, then once on the hotel side but brought my DVC blue member card. In all of these scenarios they gave me free parking, so apparently if you are either a DVC member or a renter or staying on your own points you can get free parking.

It's great to hear from some people who have visited Aulani! Thanks for the helpful information...it allows me to budget a little bit differently (e.g. I can spend the $200+ of parking money on something more fun!)

Other than parking which is included in your stay as a Resort guest, I would not count on any Member discounts since you are not the member.

Someone might have gotten lucky and not had to show their DVC blue member card but that is not the norm and I would not plan to receive that.

Unlike WDW I don't believe parking is a perk of being a resort guest. It's a perk of being a DVC member although it sounds like people staying on rented points have gotten it free also.
