Resorts with the best counter service food?
We don't often make ADRs when going to WDW, especially for breakfast & lunch. We usually just want something fast, convenient, tasty, and not too expensive.
At Wilderness Lodge, we found Roaring Forks to be very convenient, fast, and not too expensive. However, as the only "fast food" option around, it got a little repetitive. Seating, when it could be found, was nice. At the Beach Club, we would have liked Beaches and Cream if it had been counter service instead of TS. Hurricane Hanna's was okay, but the selection was somewhat limited. We grabbed food at the Marketplace quite often, but often took it back to our room or somewhere else - it felt more like a "to go" place than an actual counter service place. We've never stayed at the Boardwalk, but we walked over there a lot when we stayed at the Beach Club, and it looked to me like the food options were better over there. Between Boardwalk To Go, the Bakery, and the pizza window, it looked like good, quick eats were plentiful. So, are there any other Deluxe resorts with better counter service options than Boardwalk? And, I've never stayed in the moderates or value resorts. It sounds like most of them have food courts. I've heard good things about the two Port Orleans eateries- are they the best moderate resorts for quick eats? |

I stayed at the Contemporary in March and I really enjoyed the Contempo Cafe there. You order via touch screen. It seemed like there were a lot of choices and the food was good. You can sit there and watch the monorail go by. It's a lot of fun. I do NOT recommend Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian...went there once on a break from the park and while it wasn't bad, it was very underwhelming.
I've also stayed at POFQ in the past and found the food court there to be perfectly acceptable. They also have beignets there, which my DH said were very good and I do not believe these can be found anywhere else on Disney property. I've never stayed at Boardwalk, so I am unsure how the Contempo Cafe compares with the food there. |

The "food court" at Coronado Springs is really good too. Lunch is a buffet but dinner is the usual food court where you go to the counter and order a la carte. The difference here is that it also feels like a TS since a server actually seats you, brings your drinks/refills and you pay at the register on the way out. |

The food court at POR is excellent, especially the make-your-own pastas.
I can't speak to the food courts at any of the other moderates. However, Pop Century's food court (a value resort food court) is my favorite resort food court of them all. I highly recommend the chicken alfredo pasta, the nachos supreme (excellent!!!), and the Mom's Night Out dinners (my favorite is the fried chicken). And the desserts are great, especially if you're on the dining plan! Huge sundaes and good milkshakes are great options, as is the outstanding "apple blossom"--a counter-service apple pie (also served [albeit cold] at Columbia Harbor House and a couple other places) that's warm and served with ice cream and caramel sauce. Delicious! |

Captain Cooks @ the Poly is really good and........has dole whips
Pepper Market @ CSR is really good also. One of the best CS outside of the parks is Puck Express on the marketplace side of DTD. I would always recommend it and Earl of Sandwich.

Another vote for Pepper Market at coronado.....the food is made to order (at dinner time, i think it's a buffet now at lunch) so it's really fresh. Great service there too
We liked POP also...their greek salad is the best in our opinion!!!!!!!

we were at POP this past May and the food court is not as good as it was a few years back...they have removed some of the items from the menus...I had two grandkids that wanted spaghetti and meatballs and voila..none...
We usually stay at French Quarter and their menu is also going down.. SO we are going to go to Movies this coming May...we had a friend take photos of the luncheon menus and they do look okey.. Breakfast we usually do at the resort and then eat at other places...and have either a light lunch or dinner before the parks...hope this helps and POP and Movies food courts are not the same...they all have their own little differences..

Saratoga - The Artist Palette has a nice selection of soups, sandwiches and salads
Boardwalk - I love the Bakery, good pastries, croissants, breakfast & lunch sandwiches! Coronado - Pepper Market Downtown Disney - My favorite for both value and taste, WPE. Great salads, soups and the meatloaf, yum!
