My dear Mom earned her angel wings ^j^

Dis friends ~ my Mom, Audrey, 84yrs old, earned her angel wings on Dec 29th, 2013. I am so heartbroken to lose my dear sweet Moma , she was one of my best friends. However, she suffered so much, I also have a sense of relief she is finally at peace.

Altho she was a 20 yr breast cancer survivor ~ within 6 mos, we went from learning the beast had returned to other breast and planning surgery, to sadly, her falling and breaking her leg in 4 places. She recovered from surgery to discover she had full blown dementia, went through several months successful physical therapy with high hopes, only to learn the cancer had spread through lymph system/bones, and not strong enough to have another surgery.

With heavy hearts, we admitted her to our local Hospice House, which honestly turned out to be true Godsend. The nurses doted on her for 2 mos. like she was a queen, with much love, care, dignity, and all were amazed by her positive spirit. Praise God, she passed peacefully with her family by her side. ^j^

I know she was/is smiling from above and shaking her head at all the fuss made ~ from the special sermon Deacon performed, all the beautiful flowers and music, the lovely eulogy our DGGD's read, the program and special tokens passed out to guests who came to honor her, to the luncheon afterwards. She loved Olivia Newton-John’s music, who is also a breast cancer survivor and this was my ‘till we meet again’ song that I chose ‘Grace and Gratitude’. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHMmREOFAsc

Altho my heart is broken and I feel like part of me is missing , being of strong faith, I realize it’s all part of God’s great plan in the circle of life and she would want me to move forward. I am counting my blessings for the wonderful services and help received, our loving family and friends who have been right by our side since beginning . DH and I have been keeping her beloved poodle, Prince, past 6 mos. He has adjusted well and just as she wished, now he is ours.

To those who were aware, thank you dear friends for the PM’s, your care and concern . Angelrose, she loved your personalized angel and it went with her ^j^! She has begun her spiritual journey soaring with the angels, her Creator, Daddy, my brother and passed loved ones. Her precious memories will remain in our hearts forever, as she smiles upon us from above. Godspeed our lovely lady, with much love... you will be greatly missed 'till we meet again'. ^j^

The picture says it all. She was truly loved. I keep a picture of my mom close by so that she feels near everyday. God bless you for your loving care of her.

I'm so sorry.... I know the pain and even though I lost my Mom 12 years ago it's still so painful.

May God give your family rest.

I'm SOOOO sorry. No matter what age we are, we still go to our parents for advice or suggestions or just that unconditional love you rarely get elsewhere. Hugs and prayers sent your way and for your Mom who's now an angel looking over you.

Oh Sandie, I am so sorry. You know I've kept you and your family in my prayers for so long while your beautiful mother has been fighting this and you all along being such great backup.

I will continue to keep you in my prayers. You are always so kind and thoughtful to others in your reaching out.

I love the picture of your mama! You look a lot like her I think and I'm so glad you had a holiday time with her. What a blessing.

I'm so sorry. I lost my mom over 8 years ago and it still hurts. This time was the hardest for me, after the numbness of the funeral and having people around to everyone going back to "normal" life and she's not there. The memory of the end starts to fade away and you remember the good times, which is what you miss the most. Don't be afraid to reach out for help.
