Ideas for carrying KTTW cards and wave phones for kids
How are my daughters ages 11 and 10 going to carry around their KTTW cards and wave phones safely? Most of there shorts to do not have pockets.
Thanks! |

we bought Disney Cruise lanyards.
http://www.disneystore.com/disney-cr...88967/1000285/ They were great for their cards and money in port. Don't hold wave phones though. My 8 year old didn't need one and the tween has pockets on her shorts I've seen wave phone holders people have made. Use the search and you're bound to find an answer.

We bought this for our 12 year old: http://www.disneystore.com/disney-cr...16277/1000291/
He hasn't used it on a cruise yet, but it looks like it will work great. It's a perfect size and has spots for their key card and the wave phone.

This was the kind of thing I was thinking of that people make.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/10848173...e+phone+holder Has a carabiner to clip on belt loop. Might try and make one myself with leftover FE material!

My kid doesn't carry a wave phone. There are plenty of public (house) phones on the ship, and they can call from the Lab/Edge/Vibe desk as well. I'm not about to be charged $200 (or was it $250?) if a $29 hunk of junk is lost or broken!

The wave phones only vibrate. I never felt it vibrate when in my pocket. I saw many people carrying them between their body and their waist/belt line. Others were in their bra.
I guess whatever works. We just checked the screen every 30 minutes or so for missed calls/text. You can use a bag/purse of some sort, but you will never feel/hear it go off.

My DS10 doesn't carry a wave phone either. I take a wave phone with me so he can call me if he needs to.

Oh, fwiw, there are courtesy phones about the ship kids can use to call a wave phone or any cabin. Or they could use one at any location if the ask, even if behind a desk.
Also if no one picks up a phone call to the wave phone it will default back to cabin phone and ring that phone. Many find this unfortunate, especially if there is a young one napping. |

I made a wave phone case for my daughter. My son wouldn't use it. I also made one for each of my FE rooms.

My teenage niece is one of those "too cool for shorts" kids who wore jeans the whole vacation. She either carried her small messenger bag style purse with KTTW card and phone or stuck it in her jeans or jacket pocket. They're not that big. I definitely agree with PP who said you likely won't feel or hear it go off. We often missed messages, but would check it often. Having 3 adults and a teen across 2 rooms, it helped us keep moving and stay in touch with an on-the-go 4 y/o. We're also late adopters to smart phones, so it was easy to recall how to text old-style.

Here's a merchandise idea for Disney, if you're reading this: Create a belt clip for the WAV phone and sell it in the gift shop. You could get $9.95 for a $0.10 piece of plastic, and probably would sell many on each sailing.
