Is there any reason this wouldn't be possible...?
We have a cruise booked on the Fantasy for Aug 2013 (it was an OBB). I wouldn't characterize it as a "dummy" booking although we always knew it was possible we might change that date once 2014 came out. Now, if we were to move that booking to a 2014 cruise, would it be possible to book back on to the 2013 cruise at GTY/IGT/OGT/VGT rates if they were made available?
This isn't what we're planning on doing, but if we do switch to a 2014 cruise, we will be looking to book something else (maybe another cruise line, maybe WDW, etc) for the week in Aug 2013 to replace the original cruise. But if it happens that we don't have anything else booked by, say, early next summer and we notice that they are offering discounted rates for our original cruise....we may re-consider it. Does DCL recognize that we were already booked on that cruise even though we cancelled 6 -7 months prior and not allow us to book it again at the discounted rates?
