Cruise newbie - question about 2014 bookings

If I go ahead and book an August 2014 cruise tomorrow and pay the deposit, what is the cancellation policy. I looked on the website and just couldn't find it (but it was late last night and I was tired). DD REALLY wants to go on a cruise, DH does NOT. Since we will have our WP&M options to use from our November 2013 holiday trip (I'm adding that WP&M/no expiration option to our tickets), I'm thinking I will take DD on a 4 day cruise and then we'll meet DH in Orlando for the rest of our trip.

OH. And I'm I better off booking NOW for a good rate, or wait and book closer to my trip when maybe rates will be even better?

I can't believe I'm actually thinking of a 2014 trip when I can't even make ADRs for our 2013 trip. Even makes my head spin and I'm a bigtime planner!

You won't regret booking with DCL....even your DH will love it! My DH got hooked four years ago and we haven't cruised any other cruise line since! Lol.
I am not entirely sure of the cancellation policy. I believe you have until before your final payment is due (which is usually 90 days before you sail) to cancel without losing deposit money. Someone else on here could probably clarify this. :D

Do not wait until closer to the date to book. Disney prices do not go down often. In all of my cruises they have gone up by like $200 pp closer to the date. Plus, the ships fill up quickly especially if it is a specialty cruise like Halloween or Christmas or other times of year. I travel with a family of five and need the deluxe family staterooms of which there are a limited number, so the earlier we book the better chance of getting the room we require. There are many reasons to book far in advance. Mostly just to know that you will, for sure, be sailing on the most amazing Disney experience!!!

Good luck!

The one exception to the book early to save is if you're traveling during off season (anytime kids are in school) and a repetitive itinerary (one they've been doing for years) and you're flexible on dates and cabin assignments.
Then (and only then) would I wait for KSF or GTY to pop.
