Arbonne

I'm hoping someone here can offer some info on Arbonne cosmetics. My DD's dance studio has decided to order from them for the competitive team. I'm rather shocked at the price and really question the quality. In the past we have used MAC which is pricey but you do get what you pay for with them.

I believe Arbonne is "Independent Consultant Sold' meaning it's a multi-level marketing company. That being said, it may be a decision made by the dance studio because of a personal relationship with a consultant... or someone from the studio themselves has signed up as a consultant and it is another profit centre for them. (or they are wanting to support a friend's new business).

I know years ago I was given some of their baby products, and given a long shpeel about them, but there wasnt anything great about it.

I would be inclined to believe that M.A.C is a far superior product, and that the decision to change suppliers was not based on the quality of their product. (But could be wrong!- dont quote me!!!!)

To my knowledge there is no connection between the studio owner and the consultant. We were all told that the consultant was contacting studios trying to sell her products. She has made the claim that the product is all botanical and very gentle to young skin.....I don't agree with this. Also, that the makeup will last all day at competitions, no touch ups required.....this I find very hard to believe.

I guess really I'm trying to find someone who has used it and what their opinion is of the quality. My feeling is that since not many people I know of have even heard of it before that the quality does not match the price. I've been quoted $250 for foundation, 2 eye shadows, blush and lipstick....this includes tax and shipping. It bugs me that she could be getting a $6000+ order and no discount has been offered. You CAN get a discount if you pay an additional $25 to join their club.

That price seems crazy, especially when the kids only wear it at performances! DD managed to leave her dance make-up kit right next to the radiator and melted her lipstick, which fortunately cost less than $10 to replace!

Yes...it's funny to me NOW, that I complained about the cost of MAC. It has lasted 5yrs but that is only because I have been super careful about washing all her brushes after every use.

I spoke with the studio owner last night and gently expressed my concerns. The main one being that I had just found an article talking about the ingredients in Arbonne and there is one that causes migraines.....we are both sufferers. She said that as long as DD's face looked the same as everyone else she didn't really care what we used. So what I will do is borrow the makeup from a friend when they get it and go to MAC and colour match it.

I have roseaca and very sensitive skin. It is all about cleanliness. NEVER share anything and as the other poster said, clean brushes etc .... I do believe everyone reacts in their own way.

Not flaming this at all and yes it is off topic! I have used everything (incl AB and love to read about it. But my skin is always better at Disney because I feel like a princess.....lol
