My son wanted a pancake puff one year. He would repeat parts of the infomerical for it all the time. I got it for him, used it once and that was that.

When ds was 3 he wouldn't tell Santa what he wanted, only that he wanted presents that were wrapped, not in gift bags or unwrapped, and then that night he brought all the wrapping paper rolls into his bed to sleep with.

Maybe he thought Santa was going to come and get the paper for his presents, but he started bawling when I took them, and I remember all I wanted was for him to get to sleep, but now it seems pretty darn cute.

This past weekend, my 3 1/2 year old nephew told my dad that my dad lied to him because a while back he told him that Christmas was after Thanksgiving. My nephew thought it was literally the day after. Love how their minds work!

When I was 7, I asked Santa for a calculator. Although I couldn't spell it correctly, and "calc" came out looking like another word for rooster or a vulgar term for a male body part. My parents kept that letter for decades and I saw it in an album just a couple of years ago.
First trip with DS1 10/27 - 11/2/12.

DS1 & DS2 (and DH, of course) 4/29 - 5/8/14.

Possibly again in January 2015????

My 5 year old son has repeatedly asked for Tag Away. Yep, the skin tag remover that has its commercials on during reruns of 1960s Batman.

last year my daughter wanted crutches. She still loves to use them around the house and she also got different sized ace bandages and some wraps... she seems to really like pretending to be an emt- I'm hoping she will incorporate that into a career as a nurse.

When I was little, I wanted a stop-watch. Time baffled me in that you can time it going away. I got it and I loved it for about six months.

A yellow baseball (any idea how hard it is to find that?!)

A monkey and diapers for said monkey (good luck with that one)

When my DS13 was 3, he asked for pistachios, or "stachios" as he called them. He was so excited when he found them in his stocking, and sat right down and started shelling and eating them!

DD#1 asks for banana runts every year and her sister gets them for her.

When DD#2 was about 15, she asked for Baltimore Oriole season tickets. She got a 13-game Sundays mini-plan.

I've found that I have to be careful about what I introduce her to. I got her hooked on baseball in her early teens (she's still a huge fan many years later), and after seeing "Les Miserables" on stage in London, she was fully addicted to this show. She took an internship and a paying ushering job at the National Theater in Washington DC one summer, just so she could see every performance.

Needless to say, she's bouncing off the walls until the Christmas release of the movie!
