Which anniversary of the 21st birthday was it?
Mmmmm, yummy!!!!!

I feel the need to be honest. I'm now 35. This birthday was harder than turning 30.

A cold front came through yesterday. It's 45 right now. I don't want to leave the house.

I don't mind the something-zero birthdays. The ones that are something-five are the pits for me. That's when I switch over to a complete new demographics group. It's depressing ticking the 35 - 44 category.

Of course, some of us are not that much older but in a completely different demographics group....45 - 60. Now that's a rather depressing number....particularly when the next group is 60+.

Swingin' 60's anyone?

What's all this upset at having a birthday? So you're getting older. It's better than the alternative.

I don't mind getting older. I just hate looking at the extreme edge of the new demographics group.

Speaking of age....this old fogie needs some beauty sleep.

Have a great day all. Hope to catch you all this long weekend (did I mention that tomorrow is the Anzac Day public holiday and I've taken Friday off??)

Yes! Except as Alpha mom said -- it's 45 this morning and windy. Had to break out the coat again.

Hey. I'm in that last age group.

But, as someone said the other day who just turned 40 -- 40 is the new 20. So, I'm in my 30s again!

Hey, I'm 56 and feel 18 in my mind

What is getting to me is the spare tire I developed this winter. I'm not one to exercise and it caught up to me this year. Now I'm trying on my summer clothes and I look like an old pregnant lady

True, but I think I'm allowed to be a bit depressed for a day.

My awesome birthday gift perked me right up last night.

Yes you are entitled but I hope you've put in behind you. Glad Mr. Alpha knew just the right thing.

Funny thing is my worst birthday was 25. Realized all the "good years" were behind me. 30, 40, 45 were all nothing. The only way I would have been devastated was if I hit 30 and hadn't had a baby or been pregnant. That was my one "goal" so to speak. But PK was born a month after my 29th birthday so all was good. I'm assuming 50 will be rough but some days I feel like that will be a miracle by itself so maybe I'll just be grateful. What I will say is I'm more cognizant of my own mortality and the thought of not being here for PK or my grandkids really bothers me. And the idea that one day my mom won't be here for me. I have very little family and I'm an only child who has an only child so I think that makes it scary.

But in the meantime, I'm going to :wa ve2: :jum ping1:

The closer I get to 50, the more I think it will be something to be grateful for.

I can accept that no one lives forever but the scary thing is that when my parents are no longer here...I will become the oldest generation in the family. I still remember when I was the 'new' generation.

DH and I lost our parents when we were still in our '30's

DH had an aunt whom I adored. She died of breast cancer at 52. I always think of her and since my 50th birthday I think of every day as a gift. Longevity doesn't run in our families, so party on while we can
