DDP Desserts
I will be visiting this WDW this week and will be on the Dining Plan for the first time. We have paid OOP on all of our past trips because it has always worked out economically better for us. The DDP was free with the package for our stay so we went with it vs a room only discount.
My question is about the desserts. I don't eat desserts often (or ever) due to dietary preferences. Can I request the cheese plate as my dessert instead? Seems like a waste to skip dessert all together.

Not sure about cheese plate, but some CS places have yogurt as an option.

On the DP no i dont think they will let you sub for a cheese plate. Besides, a lot of restaurants dont even have that as an option. Not only that, a cheese plate normally costs more than an actual dessert.
You can always get fruit as your dessert instead? Sent from my Galaxy SII

I think on a lot of menus, a cheese plate would be considered an appetizer and they won't allow you to sub a dessert for an appetizer. Appetizers are generally more expensive - hence the reason dessert is included with DDP and not apps. A lot of places have different dessert options other than sweets and for the places that don't, you can get the dessert to go for someone else in your party to eat later if you wish. You are right - it's a shame to skip it since it comes with it!

1) The quick answer is "no".
2) These are considered as appys. 3) In most cases they are more expensive than desserts . . . cannot be bought in bulk and stored/served quickly when needed . . . longer prep time labor . . . more expensive ingredients . . . once prepped, cannot be kept long . . . once prepped, cannot be kept overnight 4) Best to have the item "to go" and give to another in your party. |
