First timer.....help with flight question!!!!

Hi disers.....Disney World vet here, but first time cruiser!!!! I am trying to pin down airfare. There is a noon flight out of Orlando for a great price. I know the ship returns to port fairly early when the cruise ends. Will a noon flight out give me enough time to get to the airport and everything??

In general after disembarkation we have arrived at MCO around 10:00-10:30. Once we got there closer to 11:00. Noon should be fine but the only thing I am not sure about is the luggage. It would also vary upon what transportation you are using from the port to MCO but I thought that for the airline check-in on the cruise if you want DCL to handle all of your luggage from the DCL transport to your airline that there was a cut-off time. That cut off time may be noon however. You can always lug your bags yourself as well, but it looks like you have several little ones and we try to do as little luggage handling as possible.

A noon flight is perfect. DCL recommends that you not fly before noon, but THEY book people on 11:30 flights. You cannot use on board check in if your flight time is before 11:25.

We have been at MCO before 9 on some cruises, but we've also had cruises where the "big doors" on the ship didn't open till after 9 due to a delay in Customs clearance of the ship. That is NOT a pretty situation. But even then, with a noon flight you'd be fine.

We actually prefer a noon flight. If your airline is participating, and you plan to take the DCL bus back to MCO for a domestic flight, you probably qualify for Onobard check in. It really saves time & hassle of dealing with your luggage after the cruise. We usually have time to stop for an early lunch before boarding. If you need to deal with rental cars & checking bags at MCO, you may not have a lot of down time but it's still do-able.

Also it helps if you have early dining so you can go to the early sit down breakfast. If you have the late breakfast you can just go to the buffet so you can try and be in the beginning wave of people leaving. I guess we are always slow and usually get off last.
