My family and I really enjoyed Akershus at Epcot. We did go to Cinderellas Royal table, but Akerhus was better in our opinion.

We have never been to CRT but we have been to Akershus twice. We had breakfast both times and it was great!

Akershus, hands down. Service and character interaction were better, too. At CRT, you are paying to eat in the castle, period. I was not impressed and would never dine there again. Akershus has a much better menu selection and the buffet was wonderful, too! Go Akershus!!

We did NOT enjoy our dinner at Akershus in May. It was the only TS meal in our 9 night trip we would not repeat. The princess interaction was great, so I guess we paid for that, but we (me, DH, and DD13) felt the food was mediocre at best.

We did Akershus for breakfast and it was just ok for the most part.
Although, the cherry tart from the buffet was hands down one of my fave things I ate in any of the parks and I am hoping they sell the same ones at the bakery so I can just buy them this time.

CRT on the other hand...as a foodie...it was THE best food I had!
The pasta was amazing!

Maybe this will tell you how much I liked it.

We had a 5:30 BOG ressie that we cancelled in favor of a 7pm CRT ressie the same night we are doing MVMCP.

The atmosphere was great there. The princesses spent a ton of time with my daughter.

At Akershus, even though there was no one in line behind us, we were so rushed in seeing Belle (my DD's main reason for going) that even though I had my camera out and ready, I didn't get a pic of her with Belle because she got approximately 10 seconds (perhaps even less) with her before they scooted us away and seated us.
By the time I let go of her hand let her get all the way over to Belle, the photographer took a (sub par....DD was looking half way between Belle and the photographer) picture and put the camera up to my face, they were already escorting her away.

Not a BAD experience really, just not so good after experiencing CRT.

Oh, and it seemed small at Akershaus too....kinda cramped in, even with just the 3 of us...

We also favor CRT over Akershus. Although parts of the meal were better at Akershus, character interaction, atmosphere, and staff was hands down better at CRT. They redid the menu at CRT this year (don't know when exactly but it was different this October from last December) and I think the food is improved.

I would take reviews about CRT food with a grain of salt. I didn't like my meal the first time, and when we went again the next year, I loved it. The waiter told us that they change the menu out every six months or so, so if someone hated it, you might have completely different options when you go.

Never been to Akershus, so I can't comment on it, but I enjoyed CRT both times.

Definitely not CRT or Akershus dinner! Both those meals were verging on gross. I've heard great things about both breakfasts. The CRT dinner food was awful. Servings were tiny and everything tasted pre-plated, pre cooked. Akershus the entrees were Applebees quality at best. I had the salmon, it was awful.

Akershus and 1900 Place.
1900 had awesome interactions.

CRT like other said you are paying to eat in the castle.
Crystal Palace had to be the least favorite.

My family enjoys both CRT & Akershus. Observations about the food:

1.) Menus change. Last Spring, I loved my chicken @ CRT. Last weeks meals was OK. Lunch appetizer is choice of soup or salad - not very original. The food @ CRT could be better, but it's fine.

2.) Akershus food at lunch (my only experience here) was more lunch-like than CRT (i.e. open faced sandwich). The buffet appetizer-section works well for some people more than others. If you enjoy eating smoked salmon - Akershus buffet might be a better value for you.

**My final thoughts - Akershus might be better value, but the CRT dining room is something special. The interactive 'party' at Akershus is a bit more festive than the greetings @ CRT. In other words, a case be be made for either CRT and/or Akershus.

We prefer CRT over Akershus for food. My food at Akershus wasn't even cooked all the way through. DH chicken had no flavor (and DH has simple tastes and called it bland) and my girls did not even like their hot dogs.

We are headed to CRT for the 3rd time in April. Once was enough for Akershus.
