Question Question for contact lens wearers

Youngest DS has an eye appt. on Jan 8th. He is already a contact lens wearer.

I have always in the past just purchased the contacts thru the dr's office. However, I am thinking of taking the Rx and ordering them on-line.

Can somebody recommend the best place to purchase contacts?

Thanks!

TC

I get mine through 1800contacts.com. The price is good, they arrive quickly, you can reorder as long as your prescription isn't expired very easily, and they have a partnership with Walmart.

That last thing came in handy when I forgot to bring my box of contacts on a trip and lost one in the pool. I just had to drive to the closest Walmart and they were able to get my prescription from 1800contacts and sell me a box.

I get mine through there, too, and have had good luck. I did not realize I could go to Walmart in a pinch. Thanks for the info.

Check the prices at local opticians, not just your doctor's office. Ask if they have a discount for your insurance company. Many do. I've never seen any real benefit to ordering online.

I just compared 1800contact to my contacts I just got, I paid $10 less total for a 90 day supply ($5 per eye).

I'll go against 1800contacts. They are the most expensive option I've seen (my eye doctor goes through 1800contacts now.)

Vision Direct was far cheaper and I get coupon codes all the time on top of that. Puts it about half the cost of 1800contacts.

I have ordered mine several times through Lensdiscounters.com. Great customer service, arrived really fast, no problems at all. Their price was the not the cheapest but the reviews on the cheapest one were bad. Look at recent customer reviews. One company I started to go with had the cheapest price and the reviews looked great until I got down the list to more recent reviews and they were horrible.

I don't order online nor do I purchase at the Dr's office
I get my contacts at Costco or Sam's Club, usually Costco

Why get all excited about something as silly as a fake celebrity? Or getting a tag?

I always used Costco - they ran coupons on the brand I used to wear fairly often, too.

We always buy ours through the dr's office.

It is more convenient, especially since we walk out with the contacts for my DS that same day.

My prescription has to be ordered.

I get mine at Costco. I know that's not online but they usually have rebates and good price. Maybe an option for you!

I order through www.visiondirect.com Great prices, prompt service, and you can even earn points if you go through Sunshine Rewards to get to the website.

I order from my doctor. I found the costs to be a little higher, but not much (less than $10 difference from 1-800-contacts for the entire order). For me it was worth the convenience - they take care of everything, including the insurance.
