I have only been to Florida once. What do I need to know about mid May weather? Will it be hot? Should I expect rain? In California I really don't drag out the shorts until it is above 80 degrees. Any packing suggestions would be appreciated. It will just be my DH and I.....he would wear shorts every day of the year if I would let him!!!

We have been in May a few times and it's usually pretty warm. We have lucked out with rain and out of all our trips, we have only had an occasional shower here or there - mostly after 4 p.m.

Hi Mike,

Our dates have changed a bit - thanks to our airline dropping half the days they go to Orlando. The good new is it gives us an extra day at BCV.

Our new dates
BCV Aug. 13-19 after AKL Aug. 9-13
Almost 9 full days at Disney!! (We leave early on the 13th, so I don't count that).

Thanks

I used the MDE website. It was easy. Wasn't sure how to handle the room requests, though. I had sent an email to MS with my request long ago. So I left the online check in request blank, hoping that it wouldn't override the request I already had.

I really appreciate everyone's information on this thread. I have learned a lot about the resort, and am looking forward to experiencing it myself.
We were at the BC in April of 2011 and the resort looked fine to us. Our room was immaculate and in good condition.

Thank you...great info. Looks like I better get my winter white legs out in some sun because Orlando in May looks like shorts weather.

We were in WDW last May, definitely shorts weather. Bring a swimsuit as well, there were times when it was hot!

Is anyone else living vicariously through Live with Kelly and Michael at WDW? I found it interesting that Kelly and her family stayed at GF while Jon Cryer and Johnny Galecki stayed at BC.

Watching this week has made me want to go to WDW even more (didn't know that was possible!). I'm sure that was Disney's intention behind having the show film there for a week.

Yes we have been taping the show and watching it at night. I know Jon Cryer had mentioned the sand bottom pool so he gave away his resort. I did not know that Johnny was staying there also and that Kelly was staying at GF. Watching the show so makes me want to be there now!!!

Hope to see you again.

Hi guys, I must admit I am a long time lurker! We've stayed at the beach club the past two years and booked our bounceback to stay at the beach club this october! We had to move our trip to back to later in October and I procrastinated switching dates. I found out today that all standard rooms are booked during our stay (Oct 19-26). Pool and lagoon view was available but for an additional 500ish dollars. We switched our stay to the Yacht club. I know they are pretty similar, but to be honest, I am bummed! The beach club feels like home and I've been looking forward to going back there since we have left! So my question is, is there any chance that there will be some cancellations and a room would open up if I keep on calling back and checking? Or am I dreaming? Any advice, opinions, is much welcome! Thanks!
