What to do without my kids?
DH has a meeting in Orlando in February at the Caribe Royale. I will have at least two full days and probably an additional two half days that I will have to entertain myself while DH is in meetings. We are staying an additional three days and are thinking about going to Universal to catch HP and some big rides. We are taking a family trip to Disney for a week in October. I'm debating if we should just purchase AP for Disney and do that instead. but, we are huge HP fans and our kids are little (and peanuts), so it will be a while before we can do big rides together. If we don't get Disney tickets, what could I do to stay busy for a few days? Would it be depressing to hang out in DTD and tour resorts without being able to go to the parks?

Oh-I love the idea of touring resorts without the kids! We went to Epcot for a day without the kids this summer so that is something to think about if you purchase the AP. US without the kids would be fun as well so you could ride all the thrill rides. The resorts on the monorail are nice and would take some time to enjoy. Maybe try a meal at one of them. We love going to DTD and that is fun to explore as well.

Yes, tour the resorts. Many have some kind of entertainment in the lobby or by the pool during the day. Have a cocktail and enjoy.
Disney gives excellent tours, which are a fun way to spend a few hours. I was paired up with another woman whose husband was in meetings all day. We had a lovely time visiting, and got acquainted with half a dozen other friendly people on the tour from five different states.

I did an 8 day, all resorts, no parks, solo trip a few years ago and it was a dream!
