I doubt my dog will make it through the night :(

I hate this. I have only lost one dog before and I couldn't bear it. I wish I didn't have to go though it again, but the poor mite is shivering, cannot stand up, is very weak... it's horrible.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

I'm so sorry.

We just went through this with our yellow lab yesterday.

Vet thinks he had some sort of issue with his spinal cord, as his hips and rear legs were pretty much paralyzed. He was 12 years old, and had been deteriorating for the last few weeks. Next step would have been to do MRI and she said that would run around $3000, and then additional neurological testing after that. We were not going to put him thru any more. We felt it would have been cruel. His quality of life was pretty much already shot anyway.

Nevertheless, still a very hard decision to make.

My heart goes out to you OP. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I take it the poor baby is ill and senior? Perhaps a Vet could help if only to end the suffering?

Sad..so sad

Have you had your dog to the vet to see if anything can be done? And you're right...it IS horrible when their time comes. Been there many times and nothing makes it better but time. So sorry.

Have you recently brought your dog to the vet to get checked out with this deteriation in health? If not, I would, just to make sure there is not something that could be done to help, or at minimum try to ease your dogs suffering.

Please take him to the vet if you haven't already. No need for you and your beloved pet to suffer. I know how hard it is.

Sorry to hear about your dog, OP. I feel your pain. DH is taking the older of our 2 dogs to the vet this week as he has started acting weird - very shaky and kinda clueless He's almost 12.

Good luck
