You would not safely be able to walk it.

If it has to be a" must do" for your son, take the cab. Be safe!!

If it is really only a mile or so down the road, take a Cab, they are cheap there. We took a few last time we were there and wanted breakfast at other resorts. The most we paid for a can ride was $7 with a healthy tip and that was because the driver was extremely helpful with an issue we had with an ECV. It was our issue, not his and he was amazing at helping. That was from Coronado Springs to Grand Floridian. I think the actual cost on the meter was only about $3 or so.

What's not safe about the walk? According to Google Maps it's only 1/2 mile from All Star Sports and, unlike most of WDW, there are sidewalks the whole way. The OP just needs to walk across the parking lot from the bus stop and the sidewalk is right there.

It absolutely is a safe walk. I wouldn't have walked my 5 yr old there several times if it wasn't. You won't be alone either because it's a very busy route with people coming and going in both directions.

If you look at Google maps satelleite view you can clearly see a sidewalk on the west side and the hatched white markings of a crosswalk. The McDonalds is right beside the AS employee parking lot.

I went to the map and dragged the little orange guy down to the map. That gives you the street view. For those who don't know, street view is actual pictures of the area made by a video camera so you can follow the actual route and see what is really there. I was able to position him on the sidewalk & then followed the street view and the sidewalks (which I now remember) all the way to McDonalds. It's a very safe pedestrian zone. The sidewalk is actually on the inside of a line of bushes and there are marked crosswalks, too. There's no way anyone can say it's not walkable nor can they say it's not safe.

This has become a crazy thread. To those who think the walk is not safe or possible.....what experience do you have on the subject? Where is your opinion coming from?

To the op If you like I can run over this week and take pictures of the walkway.

Yes, I hope we can close this now. I have seen on Google maps that I can walk to the McDonalds by All-Stars safely. It will be fine, and my DS will enjoy his double cheeseburger, milkshake and french fries very much.

Thank you all for the input.

That I would not recommend. Not only the distance but sidewalks and freeway on and offramps would be a concern.

Your right I wouldn't either I just mentioned that because of the fact people think you can't walk from all stars. I just wanted to point out the side walk continues to blizzard and Coronado springs.

There is a video on Youtube, of someone actually walking it. It was under 10 minutes and a sidewalk. Busy street to cross with a light, so doable.

I was youtubed it because I wanted to see - I have a nonverbal son with other issues (possible autism) who is 5 and will not be able to live without mcdonalds. If I can use McDonald's as a leverage during the day that we will be going to McDonald's that night, it just might work!

The McDonalds near AS is definitely still there - just left there this week-end.

Doesn't Wilderness Lodge have Roaring Forks? The lodge is right next to the villas.
