Ok, so you are one town. Does that make it so for every town? NOPE.

As we don't have thanksgiving in the UK I can't wait for Christmas dinner as I do more things than I don't do for a standard Sunday dinner!

Christmas eve this yr is all put favourite starters from our favourite Indian take away .. Saag paneer, Bombay aloo, samosas, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, popadoms with mint sauce & mango chutney!

Christmas day breakfast for everyone bar me is pan au chocolate & all of us will have a mini English breakfast.
Christmas dinner will be roast turkey, mini sausage wrapped in bacon, stuffing , roast potato's, mashed potato's, cheese creamed leaks, carrots & swede mash, sprouts, roast parsnips with lashings of gravy, cranberry sauce & apple sauce (& Yorkshire puddings *** we all love them).
Dessert will be Christmas pudding for mum, oh & DD and haven't decided for me & DS yet (we don't like Christmas pudding).
Then early evening we'll have cold meats, salads, French bread & some mini hot food like pies, pizzas etc & lots of sweets & chocolate throughout the night!

We go out to eat but not burger king- we go to a restaurant to eat but not burger king, olive garden or anything like that!

Since we went to my parents for Thanksgiving it's our turn for Christmas. DH is feeling fancy so he's planning on roast duck, scalloped potatoes, green beans with almonds in a white wine sauce, a spinach salad with blu cheese, almonds, berries, with a berry vinaigrette, rolls with a herb compound butter, and a cheesecake of some sort.
Its good to be married to a cook sometimes.

Prime rib.
Too many WDW visits to count now that I live nearby part time, 1 DL trip & 4 DCL sailings.

Christmas Eve both children work at a local pizzeria, so they work. We then go to Church and pick up whatever we want from the pizzeria free of charge from the owner.

Christmas Breakfast - egg casserole/french toast casserole.

Throughout the day we nibble - cheese, pepperoni, fruit, etc.

Dinner: For the first time ever I am hoping to make reservations for dinner. I am going to look around. I am just so tired this year after 2 days of Thanksgiving prep, I really want to enjoy Christmas Dinner. It is the only thing I am asking for.

I never said it was so for every town. You said it was sad that places were open & that 90% of America celebrates Christmas. I was simply refuting your claim with 1st hand knowledge.
