I hear there are no irons in the staterooms- is this true? Are there irons in the laundry areas and if so, are there many? With 4000 people on board I don't want to stand in line for an hour to press a pair of pants. Does DCL offer a service to press the clothes and if so, does anyone have a price list?

There is one iron and ironing board in each laundry room...and several rooms on each ship. I've NEVER had to wait in line for an iron. For washers and dryers, yes. Irons, no.

I had no problem using the iron before we even embarked but I also used the service for what we needed the rest of the week and it was well worth the cost although I don't recall how much for pressing.

Some of the laundry rooms have 2 irons and boards. For the pricing of pressing clothes, if you go to the dry cleaning price list in the FAQ sticky above - pressing is 50% of that cost.

I, also, have not had to wait for an iron, only washers & dryers.

Some are a little less.... We pressed a suit, and 3 dress shirts for $12 last month.

I was on the Fantasy last week and there were 2 irons in the laundry room on deck 6. No one was in the laundry rooms both times I went in.

Two years ago on the Wonder, the money I spent to have two pairs of pants and three tops pressed, was more than worth it. I hate ironing when I have my really good Rowenta. Its m vacation. That includes no ironing.

When using the irons on board be sure to check them closely for crap that could get transferred to your clothes. Using a towle between the iron and clothes will protect the clothes but make it difficult to get a sharp crease.

If you attempt to bring one (Iron or Steamer)on board in your carry on or checked luggage it will be removed and kept at the terminal for you to pick up when you return to port. Anything that can heat like an iron or steamer is a fire risk so the reason is valid. Waiting for curling irons to need to have an auto shut off before they will be allowed.

I don't understand this comment. AFAIK, curling irons are allowed.

I know that they are allowed right now. However, if you think about it a Curling iron gets as hot as a clothes Iron. Chothes irons are being conficated from luggage I really wonder when or if DCL will place safety restriction on the use of Curling Iron in the stateroom. It is a thought to be very afraid of at this time. Hopefully DCL will NEVER think in this direction.

Sorry, I hadn't noticed 2 ironing boards in rooms on the Fantasy....but then, I didn't do laundry on the Fantasy--just walked past the room and looked in on deck 2. 1 ironing board in each laundry room on the classic ships, which I have used far too many times.

Well, on the Wonder (on deck 2 at least), there are 2 irons/boards in the laundry room.
