I just saw this on run Disney fb page. Good reminder.

MARATHON WEEKEND HEAT ADVISORY

JANUARY 11
12:00:00
Due to warmer weather than anticipated, we encourage all participants to closely monitor their pace and not to over extend. This may not be the weekend for your personal best time.

We encourage you to be well-hydrated prior to the race and maintain fluid status with alternating water and electrolyte based hydration options throughout your race and the entire race weekend.

Slow down and ask for assistance at any and early signs of heat illness. Heed these warnings seriously. Please review the marathon program for more details, and if at any time you require medical assistance, the medical staff can be found wearing green jackets and official black medical staff shirts.

I'm a little superstitious, so won't buy any 20th anniversary gear at the expo. Is there a shop at the finish line? Won't need much, just a T-shirt or something.

Just another reminder for those still flying in tomorrow- make sure you pack your race gear in your carry on. After sitting down for lunch after we arrived a the boardwalk I got a call from southwest. My garment bag fell off the luggage truck and was drug all the way to the baggage area. Everything I brought in that bag (for an 8 day trip), except for three shirts and a couple pairings of shorts was destroyed.

My early guess is probably about $1k worth of stuff, quite a few finisher shirts and jackets from marathons and ironman races, but at least I have my race gear. The rest ill figure out on Monday.

I just got some for a friend who is running the half this morning: 5k, 10k. I think I'll also get 15k and finish.

Quick half report:

Solid start, but the humidity got to me in the second half. I felt I ran as good a race as I could. 1:23:50. I was surprised how dark some parts of the course were. Waiting to see place. Now off for my third attempt to ride rockin roller coaster.

I hope everyone is taking it safe in the heat.

To everyone who ran the half this morning, I hope your runs went well. I was listening to the music coming from Epcot from my balcony at BCV. Kinda made me wish I was out there with you. To everyone running tomorrow, good luck and stay cool and hydrated. I'm hoping to finish before it gets too warm.

Done with the half. A little disappointed with my time. My stomach was upset so I headed to a port a potty first fourth of a mile!! It was really humid too. Oh we'll, it was God's way of telling me to slow down and enjoy it and I did . At that point I decided to take pictures with the characters. Thank you so much to the WISH folks cheering us on; you don't know how much it helped. Good luck tomorrow folks...have a great run!
