Grand floridian tea

I'm not looking for the kids tea party they have at the GF, but I THINK??? they have an afternoon tea for adults? I'm not much of a tea drinker myself, but DGF loves it, and I think it would be a nice surprise for her. Anybody have more info on this, or know where I could get more info? Do they serve food with the tea, and would a non- tea fan like myself have a good time too? Thanks!

NOTE1: The "Tea" is in a gracious atmosphere overlooking the pool and
gardens of the Grand Floridian. A relaxing way to put a civilized break into
a hectic park day. The negative for the true tea aficionado, is they serve
only Pekoe (BOP or OP) for non-green tea. Reservations are almost a must.
Casual "park attire" is fine, or you can "dress up". You can order packages
or ala-carte from the menu.

NOTE2: Prices were increased in July 2011 and Sally Lunn was discontinued.
This makes the eatery overpriced compared to other Afternoon Teas in the
area. Even the Ritz is cheaper.

I was just sitting with my 4 year old DD today and asking her if there was anything special she might like to do just she and I on our 2 afternoons when we don't have anything planned while my Mom and brother do their own thing at the resort.

She is SUCH a tea party girl!

This is PERFECT!

Would you suggest getting dressed up?
Or are most people in park attire?

I can always put her in her Rapunzel wedding dress, but I don't want to pack and worry about messing up good dress clothes if I don't need to. (Suitcase space is at a premium!)

Could I get away with something like khaki capris and a nice blouse and not feel under dressed?

I can't stress enough how perfect this is, and if you can do something special like this for under $100 AT DISNEY, then I consider this a bargain!

My wife and i liked it. It is the first one we've ever gone to, so we have nothing to compare it with. It is a bit pricey though...If you have Tables in Wonderland, they do accept that.

The tea sandwiches were fine, there were one or two that we didn't like, and we're not into Patae's. Ask the server what kind of tea sandwiches they serve, and they'll cater to what you do/don't like. Again, it was our first time and didn't know what to expect. We were definitely full by the end of the tea. We will be going again during our April trip coming up. We'll be bringing 2 teenage boys with us...curious to get their reaction LOL.

Also, the desserts and tarts were very good in our opinion.

When we were there, people were dressed in casual attire. I wouldn't see any problem with kids dressing up....makes it more special for them. My wife wore what you saw in the picture, i wore a polo shirt with tan shorts.

We loved it. We are two adults and had a fabulous time. It is pricey but we had no complaints. We had the Grand Tea I want to say. It came with a little bit of everything.

Eta: Ours came with delicious sandwiches, mini quiche like things, pastries, and the trifle which is a must have.

We loved the tea experience there. We got tea and a bit of food a la carte, except for the fie year old in our party who got the mrs Potts package. It was all SO good.

There are no other teas on Disney property. I wouldn't worry about one negative review. No offense meant, but The Rusty Scupper seems to have very discerning taste (not a bad thing) and As and Bs are rare in his reviews.

IMO, the GF tea is wonderful, the restaurant is beautiful and the service is top notch. Definitely make a reservation though, as it is usually fully booked and walk-ins are rare.

I wore a dress. DD wore her Cindarella dress. Some were dressed up, others were casual. At one table, all the ladies wore hats. That was nice to see.
