I did order a wider Dansko Shoe but Left the store with a pair of SAS Shoes

I now believe how important a good pair of shoes are....and purchased the most expensive pair I've ever owed today - $157!

I plan on wearing them around the house for a little bit to make sure they feel ok.

SAS are well worth the cost. I bought my most expensive pair of shoes this summer. $150 for a pair of new balance waterproof boots. It took a few weeks to break into them but I love them.

Looking forward to seeing how they work for you...I tried on the Dansko based on what I read about them, but they were not comfortable for my wide foot. Please post how you make out with the SAS....I'm too chicken to spend that much on a shoe that might not work!!! (Of course, at the rate I'm going I'm going to have to do something soon....can't wear sneakers everywhere!)

I'm due for a new pair of walking shoes, I should get them ordered soon.

I love New Balance, I think the number is 843 (they keep changing it almost every time I order a new pair). They run about $100 or so, but it's been about a year since I bought a pair so maybe higher now.

I used to just wear $10 cheapo shoes, but working as a waitress on my feet all day I had to invest in some good shoes. I've been wearing New Balance for 10+ years now. I get the kind with the roll bar thingie, and it really helps. They have lots of support.

Girls at work used to complain about their feet hurting and I kept telling them to try a good supportive pair of shoes instead of the little canvas sneakers, etc. they were wearing.

I have a pair of SAS shoes that I wore when I stocked shelves at Wal-Mart. Still wear them daily after 6 years. I am in desperate need of a new pair, as they are finally breaking down.

I love my Danskos (even though I did cry a bit at the $150 price tag).

It took about 2 weeks for them to break in (and I was yelling at myself the entire time about wasting so much money on them when they were causing pain, not stoping it) but after that 2 weeks they became the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

With all the shoes they have at Zappos.com I was disappointed they don't have Sas. I remember from my old nursing days Sas were comfortable. Not stylish IMO but we were on our feet many hours.
