Going to hangout at Ft. Wilderness tomorrow help...

We are going on the wagon ride tomorrow evening at Ft. Wilderness. I am wanting to hangout there before. I saw that there are pony rides... anyone know how much? I read that there was a petting zoo but that was a super old thread... anyone know?

What about dinner?

There's a good playground over there and the only one with swings that i've found at disney. Trails end is right there. There is a takeout window too and if you go around the porch there are tables to sit at. The fried chicken to go is fantastic.

I found this information on Deb Wills' site

Pony Rides: from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for children 2-8 years old, weighing no more than 80 pounds - Cost $5. Located in front of Pioneer Hall, at the Tri-Circle-D Farm, home to Cinderella's ponies and many other ponies & miniature horses. Close by are the working Blacksmith Shop and Draft Horse Barn for the all the horses who work at Walt Disney World. See the Tri-Circle D Ranch information. NOTE: Children must wear closed-toe shoes to ride the ponies at Fort Wilderness. No reservations are required.

Playgrounds Climb, slide and play at outdoor activity areas located at Pioneer Hall, the Meadow Recreation area, Creekside Meadow and the Marina/Beach area.

What time are you taking the wagon ride? The Chip & Dale show before the movie at the Meadows starts at 7.

You can get pizza, the Giddyup and Go chicken bucket or lots of other take-out at Trail's to Go, it usually takes about a half hour to get your food. They will give you a buzzer and you pick it up when ready. The entrance to the take-out is between Pioneer Hall and the Trail's End/Crockett's Tavern entrance. There are picnic tables on the porch or there are a ton of tables around the marina where you can sit and eat.

You can sit inside at Crockett's Tavern if it's not real busy at a table and get food brought to you. We got pizza and nachos one night from the bartender, but like I said, that's usually only if you go right at 5 pm and ask nicely.

Trail's End is a great buffet and we go there every trip. Fried and baked chicken, ribs, chili, carved meats and the best cornbread on property. Also the lowest priced buffet on property.

You can watch Wishes from the beach and Electrical Water Pageant comes by at 9:45 if you're planning to make a night of it.

Our wagon ride is at 6. So I figure we should be there a bit early to hangout and get in line for the ride.
