My oldest has always loved CSR, ever since he was a little guy. He always loved the Dig Site pool and jaguar slide. The playground at CSR is great, too. I haven't seen pics of the CBR playground, but the one at CSR has swings (which a lot of the resort playgrounds do not, most just have climbers). We stayed at CSR when he was 1 and again when he was 5, 6 and 8. I don't remember him playing in the pool on our first visit there, but there is a small toddler area that's about ankle-deep on me. It's not a huge area like I think the pirate area at CBR is, though.

Truthfully, the kids will probably be happy wherever you are happy. They aren't likely to care too much about room decor or the scenery at the resort. They won't have any other resort to compare to, you know? The oldest will likely be happy to be at Disney World and have a pool to go to. At this point, my kids have stayed in a few different Disney resorts and even so, are generally happy wherever we stay, as long as we're at WDW.

No matter what you decide, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful vacation!

Thank you for the replies...
The only reason I am leaning more towards the CBR area is the kids both can actually play/splash and have fun without DH or me being right up on them... We can actually sit down and enjoy too.. But then again.. CSR is sooooo beautiful looking! LOL

Yeah, it isn't fenced off like CBR is. CBR is a beautiful resort as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there in 2008. We just like CSR a little bit more and have settled in on it being our regular resort.

This is the view standing in front of Cabanas 9B with the building behind me. This was such a great room location!

Thanks very much! I have been busy planning a non-WDW trip and haven't been watching this thread very closely. I will add it to the list.

We just spent a week at CSR with our DDs, DD7 and DD9 and they loved it! They loved the playground, arcade, pyramid pool, and the Pepper Market. They have a small pool with fountains for little ones in the back patio of the pyramid pool.

The Family and I are staying at CSR for the 1st time this June and noticed that there are two conventions that week (3 days at the beginning of the week and another at the end of the week). I see the conventions as a benefit as it could cut down on bus crowd to and from the attractions. Is this thinking flawed or is that one of the advantages of staying at the resort?

I really DO want to live there!
I circulate my paper clips at work so they all get used or I feel like they'd be sad if they didn't get a "turn".

There's almost always conventions going on. As long as it's not Grainger you probably will hardly notice they're there. You may see them early mornings grabbing coffee, etc., and then at nights at the bars. There were 2 conventions when I was last there and I saw some conventionears outside talking on cell phones ONCE. That was during spring break (first week of April 2012). For that busy of a time, we never had an issue with buses - except full buses coming back from a closing park at night. But that's expected and not a biggie.

Does anyone know if the doors to the rooms are metal at CSR? I have some fun decor to put on the door, but wasn't sure if I could use magnets or not. What does everyone else use to attach their family signs? I figured tape might take off the door paint.

Thanks!!

Just curious about the King Preferred rooms: Where are these rooms located?

Casita 1, 2 or 3?

TIA

Yes, the doors are metal. Disney definitely does not want you using tape on the doors. I think magnets would be fine.

There are king rooms in each of the preferred buildings - casitas 1, 2 and 3.
