If we stay at CSR, I'd like to have connecting, or at least adjacent rooms. OR, should I stay with AoA suite. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, as I'm totally on the fence.....
I've heard quite often that connecting rooms can't be guaranteed at CSR.

I know it would just be a request, just wondering what others have found when requesting connecting OR adjoining rooms. I guess I just don't want them in the cabanas and our room in the ranchos.

You could book preferred or Business class and at least be in the same building.

Connecting rooms are not guaranteed anywhere at Disney. We are 50/50 at Beach Club for connecting rooms. CSR has connecting rooms in all buildings and all categories (except suites).

Like Jasperann said, your chances are better if you book business class (all in cabanas 9B) or preferred (only in casitas 1, 2 and 3). The front desk CMs at CSR will try to accommodate your request if it is available. Flexibility is key - the ranchos tend to the last to book up since they are more remote, and you might not want to be in ranchos 6A or 6B, but there would likely be more open rooms there than in cabanas 8A or casitas 4, which are two very popular buildings. Booking preferred or even water view gives them a bit more to work with since many people book standard.

The junior suites have two queen beds and a pullout - not sure how they compare pricewise to the AoA suite.

Thanks everyone, for your replies! We tried to book the junior suite with the 2 queens, but they were all booked. We really prefer the Ranchos area and have stayed there on 2 of our 4 visits, so I think I'll just take my chances with that area. We're checking in early so maybe that, along with booking the area not that many people request, we'll be OK....

Best of luck! I would put connecting rooms as your only room request (I would not request ranchos thinking that might improve your chances - they might give you ranchos and not have connecting rooms). Ask again at check-in if they haven't automatically assigned them to you. If you are willing, you can tell them that you are willing to switch rooms the next day if necessary to get connecting rooms (if they are not available on your check-in day).

I think checking in early and being willing to wait for the connecting rooms to open up is the best way to improve your chances.

If you stay in a business class room, can you bring food from the lounge back to your room, or do you need to eat/drink it there?

We had no problem getting connecting rooms last time, and we were on 2 separate reservations that they linked. We did have to take a room in Ranchos (which ended up being fine, the walk in the mornings to the main building was actually peaceful) but we had no problems getting connecting rooms (and to be honest, we weren't sure we wanted them!)

I read a few reports of people taking the food/drinks back to their rooms. If it is anything like club level then they will let you take it out of that area.

I know what you mean. I'm thinking maybe just rooms the are "close", instead of connecting, might be nice!

I don't see any reason why you couldn't bring food back to your room. There are no trays or to-go boxes though - except for coffee cups/lids.

Heading back to CSR business class room in Feb (2/7 - 2/13). Stayed in the same last October with my husband for a week. This trip is with my daughter and a friend. Three girls, one bathroom. Could be interesting!

I was curious how long of a bus drive it is from DTD to this resort? I checked post #4 but didn't see a time for DTD. Thanks!

The transportation app that I have says 17 min from CSR to DTD on the bus. I'm not sure how accurate that is, hopefully someone else can give you little more specific information.
