gc last tender time

Hello! Just would like to clarify something with recent Western Fantasy cruisers. I booked an excusion through Stingray Sailing in Grand Cayman. They have been wonderful during the booking process. I got an email this morning saying the Fantasy last tender time is 5:30 local time and they will have me back by 4:30. I did email back and say on all my stuff it says 4;30 local time is the last tender. She did email me back saying no, its 5:30. Am I wrong? I dont want to miss the boat! Any help would be appreciated!

another question so I dont have to start a new thread..... can I bring pop up spring floats in my luggage to use in cozumel adn costa maya? on the disney ship faq it says no floats allowed on ship.....they pack flat in my luggage and I wouldnt use them at castaway cay? just curious dont want to break any rules or have them taken away..thanks for any help.

Plastic floats in your checked luggage will be no problem provided they don't make an appearance at a DCL pool or at Castaway Cay. As you said, they fold flat and won't appear on the x-rays.

Um....I would trust DCL on what time the last tender is before I'd trust a third party. Reality is that the tender times change from one sailing to another. I would call DCL to confirm, and then be firm with the vendor about what DCL has told you.

I would ask for clarification on time zones. I know folks did that excursion on my cruise spring break 2012 and were back 90 minutes before last tender.
Good luck

If DCL says 4:30 is the last tender then that is local time. Insist that the vendor have you back before then or find someone else. DCL changes to local time in almost every port including Grand Cayman.

DCL ALMOST always changes to local time. On those rare occasions when they do not, they make a point of telling guests at least 4 times-in the Navigator, at dinner the night before, at the show the night before, and with a sign at the gangway.

When they choose to not change to local time, it is usually to avoid needing to change one day and change back the very next day.

On our Galveston Western Caribbean cruise, last tender out of Cayman was 4PM.

We maintained Central Daylight Time the entire cruise.

We were on GC on the Fantasy on 11/12/12. Our port time was 11:30-5:45 with the last tender at 5:30. Most of my info from DCL had 4:45 listed, up until we received our final cruise documents and luggage tags, which listed the 5:30 change in the booklet. Have you received your documents yet?

That said....the website for the GC Port Authority lists you being there from 10:30-4:30, so I am not sure which will be correct in your case. I can say that this site shows that the Fantasy is the only ship in port that day (as was the case on our day), so excursion operators are going to work their excursions around whatever time the ship is actually there. I wouldn't worry about it. You can always bring your Navigator along with you and confirm times with them when you check in for the excursion.

I checked my docs they do say 5:45! Thanks for the tip, dcl site still says 4:45 on my itinerary. I am gonna hope for the best and if they say 4:30 last tender on the ship I will tell the operator to hustle back! Thanks for the report, and taking time to answer....makes me feel better.

No problem. Just don't repeat my idiotic move and mess things up for your family by getting confused on which day to set your clock and watches back an hour. Since the Navigator is delivered the night before the day it corresponds to, I skimmed over the time change paragraph and had it in my head that we were setting back on Sunday night instead of Monday night. (Yeah, I STILL feel like an idiot over this, since in the announcement, they put the days in all caps.....but hey, I was on vacation and really can't be expected to know what day it is, right? ) Anyway, you guessed it, we got off the ship in GC an hour later than we should have, and missed our excursion. Luckily we were able to jump into another smaller operator's Stingray City tour at literally the last minute. We wouldn't have been so lucky if there had been another ship in port. It all worked out in the end, and everyone had a good time, but I really am embarrassed by this, as I am usually really on top of details like that.

Just off the fantasy, it was 5:30. We had to change our clocks/watches back a hour for when we were in Mexico. I have never been on a ship that had us change time.
