Sante fe hotel :)
I am just back from a 3 night stay in the Santa Fe hotel, I was a bit wary of staying there after some reviews I read but I have to say I found it perfect. The hotel is clean, has every amenity u could need, a nice bar and breakfast was fine, rolls & croissants were warm every morning , coffee good from the machine , the bedrooms were warm & clean, bathroom fine with a very good shower.
The yellow bus to the parks was always there just as we came around the corner, no wait on either end

I'm staying there in March, did you have a Cars themed room?

Yes , cars themed everywhere, all the rooms I think are either refurbished or a lot of two story blocks were in the middle of being done, builders were in.
In our room lamp, wall lights, mirrors, bedspreads all car themed. Wall paper border. Characters meet in the morning for pics, we had Minnie & Micky but we didn't hang around so maybe there was more. The hotel was warm, clean & friendly, all u really need for the amount of time u spend there, we had a few drinks at night and a pint of beer was €6, if u like wine the 20th anniversary wine is really good and it's €20 in every hotel for a bottle, considering a coke is €4-€5 that's pretty good. |

I'm glad you liked the Santa Fe - its still my favourite onsite hotel out of the 3 we've stayed in at DLP

We love the Santa Fe too, why pay more?? We simply don't spend enough time in the room to justify spending more.

I will be spending two nights at DLP but 3 weeks in Europe. Can anyone tell me whether the hotel has self-serve laundry facilities like WDW and DLR? If not, which of the Disney hotels does?
Thanks for all the helpful advice! |

Would the Santa Fe be the top choice of the cheaper hotels at DLP? We are planning on being at DLP for 2 nights near the end of April and we are a family of 4 plus a grandma. I think we are going to need 2 rooms because I don't think paying top dollar at DLH for us to cram into one room makes sense.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of Santa Fe.

If its 2 rooms, then really, between the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne, it depends what you're looking for. Their facilities are similar, their restaurants, gift shop, reception, luggage store, character meet n greets etc etc. They are located across the Rio Grande river from each other, and a similar distance from the parks. The rooms are similar size, similar facilities, except the Santa Fe has 2 double beds in each room as standard, the Cheyenne has one double and one set of bunks in each room as standard. The Santa Fe has recently gone through a refurb in the rooms, the Cheyenne hasn't. The Santa Fe has a Cars movie theme now, the Cheyenne is built like a Wild West town (and its external theme if probably the best of all the onsite hotels). My personal preference is the Santa Fe, but loads of others prefer the Cheyenne, so really, its up to you .

It's best to ring them or play around with the booking website. I checked availablity and pricing for a friend to visit in March yesturday and for the dates he wanted the Sequoia Lodge Hotel was showing as the cheapest, £50 cheaper than the Santa Fe and the Hotel Cheyenne.
