Best hotel?

My little sister ( 8 years old) is the main reason i'm going to Disneyworld, my family is coming along with me. There is going to be six of us all together, i want a nice hotel room for my parents because i know that they will need the rest after all the walking. The problem is that my little sister will deffintley want to stay at the art of animation hotel, my parents just want a nice quiet place to crash. But when i looked at the hotel room online the beds seemed... A little uncomfortable. For me and my sibling we don't care where we sleep, my parents however are a little picky when it comes to beds. My mom won't say anything if she has had a bad night sleep but it shows very well, and she can get cranky and stressed when that happens and i don't want a bad sleep to wreck her vacation. What is your guys favorite hotel when you go to Disneyworld? I haven't been to the art of animation hotel so i don't want to shoot it down before i go, anyone have any ideas?

With 6 people, other than if you go with suites (like at AoA) or DVC, you will need two rooms.

I would suggest looking into two rooms at POFQ. It is a nice compact resort and they just changed to queen sized beds.

There is a very well maintained thread for POFQ that tells all about the resort and its extra amentities.

Not sure of your budget, but our favorite resort is the Poly and we think the beds there are very comfortable (followed by the beds at the GF). The tropical atmosphere of the Poly is beautiful and it's relaxing walking around the resort. The beach is also a great place to relax while watching the fireworks after a day of walking in the parks. We have not stayed at AoA, so I can't comment on that resort.

I have stayed at many WDW resorts....only ones I haven't stayed at, so far, as SSR, AoA, CBR, CSR and POFQ...and I'll be staying at AoA and SSR in 3 weeks.
I have never, ever had a bad mattress/bed. Yes, some are more comfy than others, but the only time I have not had a good night's sleep at WDW was due to something other than the bed!!!
Oh, and I'm 63, with a somewhat iffy back!!!

Who will be sharing a room with who?? How will it be split up??? Is it possible for you and your little sister to stay at AoA and have the others stay at a moderate??

With 6 people, you won't all be able to fit in a single standard room at any Disney resort. So, your options would be:

Two rooms at any value resort
AoA family suite or ASMu family suite
Two rooms at any moderate
Suite at CSR
Two rooms at any deluxe
Two bedroom villa at any DVC resort

Since you mentioned that your Mom needs a comfortable bed, you might also consider the Swan and Dolphin. They have the Heavenly Beds, pretty much the most comfy beds on Disney property. They're within walking distance to Epcot and DHS, and you can often find pretty good discounts, especially if anyone in your group is a teacher. You wouldn't be able to use DME, or get the dining plan, though.

I don't see why a suite at AoA would be uncomfortable for your parents. Isn't there a real queen sized bed in the bedroom? Put them in there and let everybody else sleep on the pullouts/Murphy beds.

I remember from a previous thread of yours that budget will definitely be an issue for you. AOA suites are quite pricey compared to the family suites at ASMu, so that may be a consideration for you. All of these suites have a queen bed in the master bedroom, so your mother should be quite comfortable.

Your other option, which could be even less expensive, is 2 value rooms (request CONNECTING rooms). These would only have double beds, but your parents could have one room to themselves, and you could share the other room with your siblings. If you decide to go this route, note that the connecting rooms is only a request and isn't guaranteed, but the CMs will do their very best to meet your request.

My suggestion is the same as above, POFQ two rooms. If you can get two connecting rooms then there are four queen size beds to use for the 6 of you. Plenty of room for everyone, two bathrooms and a great pool. POFQ is a small resort, and you can request a building close to the bus stop or lobby. My sister stayed at this resort and it is now her favorite, she said the beds are very comfy.

Have you considered staying at Kidani Village/ DVC at Animal Kingdom Lodge??? in a 2 BDRM Villa? that would offer lots of room for everyone, a king bed in the master, and Kidani is supposed to be a BEAUTIFUL (the rooms look amazing), and definitely relaxing/ quiet resort! I've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge on most of my trips, usually at Jambo House, but on my next trip I will be trying out a 1 Bedroom suite at Kidani.....I love AKL, and I think Kidani will really fit us all well for that trip, I am looking forward to trying something new!

I will be sharing the room with my two parents, myself, and my three younger siblings. I'm thinking of sticking my parents in a separate room that way they can relax without my sister getting them up all night :D
And me and my siblings will stay in the other room. I was thinking of setting my parents up at a different hotel but my parents like to see my little sister excited over it, plus my family gets super stressed and haywire. If something dosen't go right its crazy! It's a sight to see hahaha :D

I won't be going for some time but i'm getting prepped, you always think somthing is far off until it hits you :D

Renting points from a DVC member would make this alot more afordable. OKW is another good low points option and the villas are the largest you will find there.

My personal favorite is POFQ because it is quiet and it has low crowds. But with 6 people I think staying at a DVC such as Beach Club Villas or just getting two separate rooms would be the best choice. AoA was extremely crowded with kids when I visited there but it probably has cooled off.

I'd look into renting DVC points to get a 2-bedroom villa. It can really bring down the price. I would not consider AoA to be a quiet place to relax. When we went in October, there were kids running around everywhere. Understandable, since its a value that has just opened. I also saw that the suites were not as inexpensive as one would think. My mom and I stayed at the POP and found it quite nice, but you would need to request two connecting rooms. We also found POFQ to be quiet and relatively compact so it was easy to get everywhere. You would need to request two rooms there also.
