Boardwalk or Yacht Club
We usually stay at YC for location and SAB. The weather will not be warm enough to do the pool this trip so we thought we would give BWI a try. I am getting concerned about that decision. Is BWI a lot more crowded because people come from all over to visit the BW? Is it still personal at check in like YC where they know your name as soon as you arrive and personally escort you to check in? I choose BWI because I heard the rooms were recently refurbished and YC really does need an overhaul. Any info from anyone that has stayed at both would be greatly appreciated!

Also, BWI and YC/BC were all refurbished around the same time in 2009, so I wouldn't say one is in better shape than the other in that respect. I would just look at the rooms of each and pick the one that appeals to you most. Good luck!

never cl but have stayed over 5 times at YC and every time we were greeted personally when we pulled up with our car. YC looks rundown and that is why I wanted a fresher room and thought BWI was refurb more recently

We love the Boardwalk! We really enjoy the theming and some of the activities along the boardwalk. Location is great to HS and Epcot just like YC and BC!
A couple personal drawbacks for Boardwalk is that there is no great quick service option in our opinion. There is no self service mug refill or "cafeteria" (lack of a better adjective) type of quick service. For instance the BC has the marketplace, Poly has Captain Cooks, etc...the Boardwalk doesn't have a comparable place to go get quick service. There is a pizza window you can go to, also at the Bakery there you can do a quick service meal, but the quick service isn't our favorite part of the staying at the Boardwalk. I know it may seem lame but I love using the mug refills to the max during trips! Staying hydrated with water, powerade, an occasional soft drink and coffee here and there; I just prefer to fill it myself and not keep asking someone to do it for me! We all know that 3 sips and that cup is empty after ice goes in! One other drawback which doesn't happen all the time but does happen is that the Boardwalk can be first to get picked up to go to Mk and the last to be dropped off. Sometimes the bus will be shared with BW, Swan, Dolphin, YC, and BC so it can take a long time to get from the BW to the MK (and back) if it is one of those days that all 5 of those resorts will be sharing. Again, it doesn't happen all the time, but it can happen and did during our last stay there just about every time. The above does not deter us from staying at the Boardwalk; we do love it and the location! Rooms always feel clean, bright, and again we love the theme! I cannot compare to the Yacht Club since we have never stayed there, but we have stayed at the BC and BCV several times. I do recommend it especially if you have never stayed there! May be fun to try another resort ![]() Enjoy!
