RFID Touch to Pay Room Keys start in Dec

There was a generic picture floating around earlier this year of what the bracelets are going to/said to look like.

It appeared that the wristband portion was stretchy - kind of like one of those Livestrong bracelets and could come off and on easily.

I am all for the wristbands! It would be easier than keeping up with a KTTW card. One less thing in a pocket/bag!

And since I have APs I won't have tickets on a wristband. I'd like to see the design. Would have to be adjustable.

It's been said the APs will also be accessible from the wristband. It taps into your account with Disney, and your account knows you have an AP.

The idea is that we will be doing EVERYTHING from the wristband. Park admission, room keys, charging back to the room account, checking into restaurants for ADRs, getting fastpasses.

Wow, that is sooner than I expected! I didn't dare hope to get to see some bits and piece of next gen on my next trip but with that timeframe it is practically a sure thing.

Yes, I just said 'one of the pictures' and I didn't have time to look for the wristband picture.

Thanks for the pic. I really like the look of the first ones. They don't look too bad. I might actually like wearing one. When we go on our family trip in Dec 13 will all of the kids have one for their tickets? My girls will be thrilled if that is the case. Now my FX kids definitely will have nothing to do with it. That's ok I will just keep theirs in our bag.

If you don't want this, just don't have charging privileges. Or, I'm sure you can opt out of it. I have never known Disney World to force anyone to do anything (except bag checks ). No way in hell my husband is wearing that. Why doesn't everyone just calm down until, oh, I don't know, the entire thing is actually done?

I honestly don't know. I haven't been putting much thought into it. I'll just wait until it's done and see.

I'd imagine it'd be something along the lines of everyone getting on in the same fashion that kids get tickets now... maybe kids just won't have charge privileges or something.

I will do backflips of joy if the bracelets are good to go by the time my vacation rolls around. I doubt it will but I can wish right? Last trip I was forever misplacing my kttw. If its around my wrist I doubt even I can manage to lose that.

Just wanted to point out that "wristbands" don't necessarily need to be on your wrist. If they aren't comfortable for you, just put them on your belt/backpack/etc.

I'm thinking that there will be other methods available for paying for food and souvenirs in the parks and resorts. They have thousands of non-resort guests to deal with and those people won't have a wristband thing.

Unless they set it up where everyone has an "account" which they are either billed for or pay when they are ready to leave. Even non-resort guests can use it then.

Thanks they look adjustable so I am sure those with allergies like myself or those that just do not want to wear it can simply attach it to a bag or carry it in their pocket.
